The press would be raving if one of the ‘big’ teams scored that, a very well executed try well created at the best of times but for a team that had defended its legs off all night to create that try deserves a very big pat on the back indeed.

Woolf’s moaning about a slow game and the speed of the play the balls, plus oh we were slightly off tonight maybe shows how very well we did defend be interesting when the ‘stats’ come out...

The way we controlled the game late on by kicking Saints back on their line was heart warming ....

You should see the redvee board- complete meltdown with only Saint George giving the giants credit for excellent goal line defence, the rest complaining about is spoiling the game and the ref being bent. They thought it was going to be a given after seeing last weeks score.
You are spot on about Wardle, skinning Welsby Like that was brilliant play- the rl press have been waxing lyrical about Welsby- if it was the other way round a clip of that try would be everywhere!
A great response- and that’s the most pleasing thing. It bodes well for the season. But it would be nice for our fans to finally see a win at home!

Thanks for that WW, I've always thought he has potential, i don't know why he is not in the 17 every week as second Hooker which we need if we are not going to burn AO out, still that's just an opinion and it's not everyone's. Glad he had a good game though and really happy for the team, that will have done their confidence a power of good. Wardle's try looked a real stunner. Onward and upwards

Great turnaround after last week. The mark of a good group of people is how they bounce back from low points.

Agree with that 100%. We have always tended to be a team that goes on 'runs' of wins or losses, over the last few years the loss against Wigan would have sent is spiralling into a 4 or 5 game losing streak, so to see us bounce back is really promising and a sign that the dressing room has belief that we are a good team. I really hope this fixture congestion over the next few weeks isn't going to undo our good start as we really don't have the squad strength to be rotating.

I believe He’s been Injured Jo which is why he’s only just appeared on the bench.

At the senior Giants last week Steve Fox said that Tom had played 60 minutes as hooker for the reserves at Hull KR he seems to think thats the way he will be going in the future.

What a win, another win on the road and at the seemingly unbeatable champions. great defence after looking like we were gonna get steamrolled early on and that try to won it was superb even though its already been described as lucky.
once again we only won cos of a ref or the other team not trying teams just cant accept losing to us can they?

theres some classics on the saints forum

Quote:An absolute disgrace.

Stupid, overly defensive selections. Clueless and guileless near the line.

This is f*cking Huddersfield who got dicked at home last week

Quote:Defensively we played well. Their two tries where , in my opinion, lucky.

We had them well beat in the middle. They didnt want anything to do with us.

Quote:Huddersfield had the Warrington playbook out, lots of stoppages for players down, lots of apparent feigning injury, etc.

Quote:this was Huddersfield, hammered by the pies last week. Hewer was awful, fat and bent with gormless liners but we shouldn't have lost that.

Quote: God forbid we ever get anywhere near the turgid levels that Huddersfield hit tonight. Total anti-rugby at times. Which is bizarre because their defence is actually very good.

Quote:Trying not to overreact but that was shocking and embarrassing. My thoughts on that are as follows:

Huddersfield are sh*te and we’ve just made them look half decent.

Quote:the only mitigating factor is no Coote but we should be putting 40 on Huddersfield even without him

Quote:a Huddersfield side who did nothing but spoil and frustrate and slow us down.

poor little babies, if anyone finds any dummies send them back to merseyside quickly

We got over that after the no-drop goal at KR. :thumb:
I have to say- saints fans are fecking bad losers! Anyone would think they were entitled to the win.

That would account for it then, I hope he is going to be given a chance to stake a claim for a place, AO is going well but not every Hooker is D Houghton and can play 80 minutes.
