It's a long time since we've taken a thrashing like that, dreadful performance. No go forward, soft in defence, going side to side with the ball, too many playmakers including Battye who forgot what his job was, ..........
Suddenly every forward seemed to think they were Latrell Mitchell
Why was it so hard to complete a set??? On 2nd/3rd tackle time and time again they were throwing hail Mary passes to the wing with predictable results
I suppose I can understand because they were so dominated through the middle maybe that was the plan!
Our pack looked physically completely out matched and everyone forgot to cherish possession going into contact.... How many balls were lost going forward? .... it took until the 60th minute to have any kind of parity on this score... against forwards who work in the week and only train Tuesday and Thursday nights!!
This is Fev without their best player!
Think I'll concentrate on the Under 18 team who were sensational
Outplayed and outmuscled in every department today. Tbh surprised we hot 10 points on the board. Concerned with dixon getting put o his backside several times. Some stupid penalties, no leadership no clue basically. Fev played a very simple game. Very dissapointing
As a Fev fan I didn't expect that going into the game but was less surprised after I saw London's starting line-up. I don't know how many injuries you have right now or whether this is down to recruitment but starting both Pelissier and Fozzard in the pack seems bizarre when your middles already lack a bit of size. If you knew nothing about the teams but looked at them both as they lined up for the kick off you'd have to have fancied Fev - London had some size out wide with Curran/Walters/Egodo, Armitage, but in the middle of the field you had half a dozen really small blokes.
It's clearly part of the game plan to try and run teams around the park but you didn't have a platform to build this from and the halves lacked creativity, and I lost count of the number of times the ball was passed from one side of the field to the other without looking like an opening being created.
Think London are better than you showed today and James Webster was insistent he still thinks you are a good side and will be up there, but against the physically big/strong sides you're going to be vulnerable if you've got so many small guys in the middle of the park. As a poster said above, Fev kept it fairly simple and were able to wear you down.
On the plus side, the ground is so much better with the addition of that new stand.

It was very hard to sit through that. In fact I left after we scored – I was convinced even if we played until midnight we would not score. We were outmuscled, out enthused, out skilled, out coached. One of the most awful displays I have ever seen. Even last year in SL when we were on the back of a few tries we looked like scoring. Maybe this reflects the loss of so many talented and experienced players and their replacements not being up to the job.
Featherstone were good, very good but ……. What anyone sees in Meadows is beyond me. He is an average half back and a woeful full back. He never wanted to catch the bombs. He ‘chimed’ into the line offering a hospital pass to whoever had the misfortune to be outside him. Oh to have Walker back. The halves were bang average. The pack are lightweight and struggle to defend the line. No longer do we have Yates who didn’t mind the hard stuff, getting low as third man round the ankles. The Fev forwards made yards after contact, we just succumbed. Dixon was way off the pace. Hodson looked very nervous. Walters and Curran were quiet. Too many knock ons.
Any one know why Armitage was sin binned. Quite an important moment as Fev cleverly exploited that side twice (maybe three times) whilst he was off.
As for coaching. Fev knew we weren’t going to beat them down the middle so really organised slide defence out wide and all we did was go from left to right and back and get clobbered. Only in the second half did we vary it and use the kick option.
