I presume you went to the Rams game where without Murrell, chances are we would have lost comfortably. To be fair to him, regardless of how much in shape he is in, he will never be the quickest player, but he was set the objective of getting into shape this year and in my view he has done that and is probably as lean as he has ever been for us, and looking sharper. One things for sure, he's not responsible for us getting dominated in the pack and around the ruck and for all the penalties our forwards are giving away.

Agreed.

Ha, the ruck is the key because we lose it more often than not both when defending and when attacking.

It’s largely down to Line speed.

Attack.
Instead of taking the ball in at pace we rumble forward and get knocked over by the faster moving, more aggressive defender.
Then because of being on the back foot, panic and put the ball down.
Defence.
Instead of moving into the tackle at pace we rumble forward and get knocked over by the faster moving more aggressive attacker.
Then because of being on the back foot, bugger about and get penalised.

Spot on. I think the 2nd try is a very poor read by our full back. To be so far away from that kick after the distance from the play the ball to the try is not that large suggest a mis-read. The last try there is no way that player should be getting that ball down once the 3rd player is involved.

After 40 years supporting Fax my first post - driven by the depressing negativity that seems to dominate this forum. 2 league games played, 1 won and we have 4 or 5 posts about an new exciting loan signing and10 pages dominated by "fans" slagging off the coach, players and directors.
There are obviously some genuine fans that can still put forward a balanced/supportive view in spite of their understandable frustrations with some parts of the team's performance, but some, possibly clinging to past glories seem determined to knock everything the club attempt to do unless it involves immediately producing free flowing error free rugby, played by top players without recourse to dual registration. (and all this on crowds of 1500)
Success in rugby - as in everything else goes in cycles - I've been lucky enough to enjoy some fantastic days watching the team - but I've also watched every home game in a season without a win
I'm hopeful that in time we can enjoy more of the good days but personally feel this is more likely to happen with support/encouragement rather than constant complaining.
Rant over!

If I pay good money for a product, I expect good quality service or goods.
Otherwise, people are likely to complain, or go elsewhere.

Is that what Fax are, just a service or goods, just something bought and ordered up?

Whilst it is true that fax are in a mess it really can’t be laid at the current Bod, I would say the coach as well but as yet he has not proved himself worthy of the name, he had a few good results when he took the job (don’t they all), but so far not much has changed on the field for a few years.
For me it has been going wrong since (the alleged Fat Controller) Nigel Woods managed to get Fax relegated from Super League in ’98 (?) and did not support with a parachute payment as other clubs in other years before and after received. Maybe even before that when he landed Fax with the idiotic ‘Blue Sox’ moniker, against the majority of supporter’s votes. Fax were cheated out of a super league licence when, clearly on more than one application they had better facilities than other clubs at the time, Leigh, Castleford, Wakefield even the mighty Bradford and St Helens were not as good as Fax’s ground at that time(whether you like being at the shay, that is a different argument), Woods again?
Bod’s and coach’s in the past have also contributed to the calamity over the last 21 years in various ways, as Ilkley Fax says we have had some bright spots in the 21 seasons past, not enough for a club with the heritage of Fax though. JeffVickers you say quote” If I pay good money for a product, I expect good quality service or goods” hells bells man 21 years!, faxcar has stated 6000 others voted with their feet, and Hudds Shay has this year (so far) thrown in the towel.
I have said previously, everyone the terrace thinks they are a better coach or BoD member than those in the position right now, if so offer your services and show up. You can all throw stones at me as I am not physically in a position to be there, but my heart is still a Fax lad, I keep saying I have had enough, but every week I am mentally willing the Blue n White to win. It is a long Season ahead, no one knows what the Rugby Gods have in store on or off the park. Keep the faith . Come on Fax 'getinto ‘em’

My Humble Opinion Only - let the knockers begin.
