Hastings and Hardaker are two others who have genuine pride in the shirt which, as non Wigan natives, is a particular joy to see. I really enjoyed Jackson's playing to the crowd after the tries yesterday. He's starting to build up a real rapport with the supporters already.
As to Marshy; when he first came into the team it was clear he was a natural finisher but had several deficiencies in his game, notably in defence, under the high ball and, not having natural size, wasn't as effective as others bringing the ball out of our own half. He has systematically worked through each of these weak areas to the point where I'd say one of them (bringing the ball out of defence) is arguably one of the strongest parts of his game! That's genuine application. His defence is now solid and he no longer gets caught out of position either. The improvement in his all round game is exemplary. A class professional and a credit to the Jersey.
Spot on there, I was quite critical of Marshall at times up until last year but his overall game has improved ten fold and he’s always one of the hungriest players on the pitch to see the ball, with him and Dom on the wings we won’t go far wrong because both are cracking players who give 110% everytime they’re on the pitch
As for Hastings you can tell he’s a genuine class act, he shows so much passion every game and never stops talking and directing which is something we lacked massively last season. He reminds me very much of Sam Tomkins because of his pure will to win and his excellent leadership
