No definitely squeak and not squawk.
It’s how they talk.
The first “a” becomes an “e” and the first “e” becomes an “a” unless it precedes an “s” when in dat case it becomes an “i” with “d” becoming the first letter in all cases.
As in de does dis and da does dat De da de da de da etc.
Same story. Same rhetoric from Grix. Loss against York next week must surely mean he's on his way out? The guy was all about a fast start to the season, that's what he was saying. Don't know about anyone else but those post- match comments on Fax TV fill me with dread. You hope for a little bit of insight but I don't think Grix can even tell you. Any coach that is talking about 'effort was or wasn't there' at a professional / semi- professional level is grasping. He doesn't have that coaching nouse just yet. Hope for his sake we can win 2 out of 3 against York, Leigh & London. I do worry that against London that we will be sub 1000 for that game.

Generally you give penalties away in RL if struggling to get a foothold in the game....
Halifax in poor discipline shocker. As FW says the penalties are normally fo a reason and one of those reasons is the forwards struggling. From what we have seen of our pack so far this season we are on the back foot most of the game as they are easily rolled. Too many players not good enough in that pack and its the same players who were not good enough last season.

Simon clearly looks uneasy at these after game interviews knowing he is under pressure because of the results and the fallout that will follow.
On poor discipline it's obvious to everyone it's an on going problem, if you watched the Cas - Wakefield game Wakey were like the SL equivalent of Fax and like us poor discipline was the biggest contributor to losing the game because it leads to less ball, more tackling, more fatigue, more points conceded etc.
The biggest eyebrow raiser from the interview was the comment on Kevin Larroyer who apparently has a poor reputation with officials regarding penalties and in their match preview preparations notice that and will be looking to penalize him.
Well knowing that Kev, start standing square, keep the hands out of the ruck, don't lie on etc and same applies to the rest. How hard can it be to understand "clean your act up."
When losing by just a couple of points just doing that could make all the difference.

Not sure on why he was given the length of contract he was given when he was a unproven coach. Sure we had better options. Another loss Sunday then changes will be needed sure Brian Noble will be looking for a club

Im sure he will be but it won't be ours, he will probably be looking for one that can afford to pay him a decent wage. Same goes for every other decent coach out there and the promising assistants are not touching our job with a barge pole. I do think he should be given more time but the biggest problem which we seemed to have last season was that our discipline was poor and this does not seem to have been addressed which is a concern. He appears to have given a few players one last chance and they are re-paying him by putting in the performances we have seen so far.
To hear Grix praise certain players and then watch the highlights from Saturdays game and then watch the 2nd and last tries and think he must be watching a different game either that or just be in a total state of denial to the point of saying anything to defend the players.

Yes it makes sense to question the appointment and length of the contract on the basis of first line coaching experience.
Once that decision was made however it makes no sense to expect him to be sacked after 3 games when the team he is assembling is still knitting together and a work in progress.
Progress is the trigger word and a lot will depend on if any can be made, as the adage goes, winners are grinners but if the losses pile up so will the pressure on the coach, team and club.

Talk of sacking SG is rubbish. We can't afford to and if we could who would want the job at the moment? When we got shut of Marshall I was ridiculed for saying we shouldn't go for a new coach with Fax links/ex forward. We went down that route, some might say cheap option, and we are reaping what we've sown. Simon has got to get to grips with what he has available to him and hopefully steer the good ship Halifax RLFC to mid-table mediocrity. That, i'm afraid, is the best we can hope for this season...again.
