Me too, his work rate is superb.
Clubb did a lot better and gets extra points for winding Jake Conner up. He still looks like he’s dragging a 3pc suite behind him when he runs the ball in though

Best performance so far, never looked like we were in trouble, not getting carried away yet though, Griffin and Jones apart I thought Hull were pretty awful. Looks like next week will be a tougher test but onwards and upwards.
Clubb looked like he’s read this forum, played with purpose today.
Thought Bibby had a good game defensively.
Partington best game yet imo
Let’s build from here

Agree with most comments so far, we were well in control at 8-0 until the French pass which led to the full length interception on 25 minutes. Despite a series of offloads and penalties conceded gave Hull a good fifteen minute spell they never really threatened after that.
The 2nd half was all Wigan once we tightened up on our indiscipline. Great Manfredi & Hastings tries later and the game was all but wrapped up.
The match felt much easier than I thought it would have been even though we never needed to get out of 2nd gear.

I was disappointed in Hull too; I expected a Cas-like test, but they really weren't all that, I never doubted we would win the game, even when they equalised. Reckon we are improving week on week as our spine get used to each other. Was it Harry Smith who put that clever kick in? Nice cameo if so.
Farrell sin-binning was a shambles. Yes, he had to get a yellow for what he did, no argument there, but matters should never have reached that point. The Hull player (Houghton?) was totally taking the mickey with the time he hung around in the ruck, Farrell had just had enough.

I believe it was. Jack Deardon and Neil Tulley were waxing lyrical about it and him. They were really talking him up and with TL potentially injured a door is wide open for him now.
It sounded like we played well but didn’t really get out of second gear, not through playing poorly but because we didn’t really need too. Surprising from Hull that performance, I did expect a stern test from them today.

Hull look short on quality depth. They’ve got 3 or 4 forwards out but guys like Fash and Matongo don’t look like they’ve got the quality to fill in. It’s certainly an area we’re blessed in, probably more so than any team in superleague. It’s easy to forget when people talk about Hulls injuries today, that we’re missing a few players also. We had Gildart, Flower, G Burgess and Lockers our today and didn’t select guys like Greenwood, J Burgess and Hankinson. That team still looks pretty strong on paper even without all those guys.
It was Harry Smith who put that kick in with his first touch. The lad looks a proper halfback and he should go on to have a good career here.
Another thing that was pleasing was that, unlike other recent games, we got off to a good start, with a fine try after just a few minutes, nearly followed by a second after another good move shortly after.
Great first touch from Smith, then, NK! He does indeed look a proper half. No problem with him being on the bench today, though.
