I got that impression as well, he’s been allowed to get away with some very poor performances for this season and last season because we had no alternatives but thankfully that’s changed now, let’s hope Manfredi can stay fit for a while now though

If the proof is in the pudding that Lam won’t drop underperforming players it’s Tony Clubb.

And no Coach should give any opinion about the form of any player in post match interviews.
Marshall and Burgess both made errors against Toronto that led to tries. Burgess did later score a fantastic try. For some Burgess will never do enough

One of the problems that Burgess faces is our massive expectation. He is an extremely talented player who is going through a rough patch, he seems to lack confidence in himself and errors creep into his game. He really needed that try against Toronto to show what he can do. I do not know what the club do to deal with the mental side of the game but investing in someone to work on the players heads, if it is not already done, would not be wasted money.

I agree. Marshall has improved out of sight over the last year or so and deserves his place. However, him up against Mahe Fonua again fills me with dread. Perhaps Burgess and Manfredi should play today and give Marshy a week off? Budgie and Manfredi don’t worry me as much when the likes of Fonua are on the charge! Just a thought.

Fonua will be ag centre today, it will either be Farimo or Swift he is against.
Manfredi doesn't look really ready to me, could do with another reserves game. I agree that Burgess has been OK, certainly better, in his last couple of games. I've watched a few archive games this week on Wigan TV, though, and it's still fair to say he looks a shadow of the player he was.
