The quote is from the 1st programme .D/R may be boring but it is like a festering sore that wont go away its" a rock & a hard place " question Do you stick with your deeply held principles or like me grit your teeth very reluctantly go with it knowing that every penny is vital ?
The crunch will come in 2021 with the new TV deal when potentially we will have no funding.
Look at the recent announcement that the R/U Championship are having there funding cut by 50% next season "Ring Fencing" by the back door quote from the Bedford Chairman.
The Sport I grew up with is becoming unrecognizable & I really fear for the future of clubs like HX

That's just exactly how it is and when everyone else is playing a different game from what we knew and loved you either go with them or be cut adrift.

What it does say is "What would we have done without our new dual registration arrangements with Huddersfield and the ever-present Oliver Roberts who shone throughout all 80 gruelling minutes and who, in the nick of time from a superb Scott Murrell pass, crashed over to seal the victory for us in the dying seconds of the game. A well-deserved Man of the Match performance in my opinion."

He just questioned what would have happened in the Sheffield game without Roberts playing for us, given he scored the winning try at the death.

Without DR, we'd probably be 0 from 2 now.

I was quoting from the Sheffield programme. The point I am making is that the way the present board are taking us makes it less and less likely that we'll ever become self sustainable again. Feeder clubs are coming, some might say they are here already, and as bentleyman says the game is becoming unrecognisable from the one we once had. If you are happy with that fair enough. Personally I would break away from SL, take the Challenge Cup with us and let the 'elite' play with theirselves 5 or 6 times a season.

Hear All, See All, Say Nowt.
Eat All, Sup All, Pay Nowt.
And if Tha ever does Owt for Nowt,
Allus do it for Thissen.

Everyone understands the DR situation but how can anyone say the board is taking us in the wrong direction, it's not of their making or their direction at all.
It's the direction that the game as of 2020 and moving on and all the other clubs are going in and it's not possible to remain competitive as a stand alone club, it's simply not the 1960's, 70's, 80's or any other by gone era and it never will be.

How can anyone, simply because they hate DR resort to criticism at every possible opportunity and say the club lacks leadership and ambition whilst at the same time stop supporting the club when if everyone followed that example of leadership and ambition the club would fold and go out of existence in a matter of a few short weeks.

It's a very sad day when hatred of something (DR) overrules the love of something (club) IMHO.

A sad day indeed that lifetime supporters are in this Catch 22 situation

As are the entire BoD and everyone else involved with club.

We need to remember it's not us or them or even us and them as if we are some separate disconnected parts.

We're are all in it together.

Much as we all despise DR we are not in a financial position to ignore it. The board are trying their best to do all they can to keep us in this division, unfortunately we just don’t have the money to live with the top teams in this league. What the answer is without a big financial backer I don’t know but staying where we are is probably the best we can realistically hope for at present.
Onwards and upwards at some stage, hopefully.
