Well that was dreadful. With the omission of Sykes and Finn, was that a full-strength Dewsbury team we played today?
We played well for around 5 mins right at the beginning of the game, then again for around 10 mins during the middle of the second half. Everything else was rather drab and underwhelming which fills me with anxiety as the new season approaches.
I felt that we could have clawed back another score in the second half until Levy Nzoungou gave away a penalty for lying on which killed all of our momentum and gave Dewsbury enough breathing room to take back control of the game. We lacked creativity during the opening quarter which saw us have 3 chances close to the Rams line, but nothing came to fruition. At times we looked like a team who had been pieced together at the last minute. Hopefully this can be improved over time as the players spend more game time together.
It’s going to be a testing season for us this season and can anybody see us really challenging at the top end of the table? Some very strong teams in the championship this time round so strap your self in for what looks likely to be a scrap at the wrong end of the table.

Rodger, surely your not suggesting that a person/s who pass themselves off as pillars of the club are liars, well I never.

Sqad wise that would probably put you in the group of Widnes, Sheffield, and Fax. I think tat is pretty opptomistic when comparing squads. The bottom 2 will be poor this year so Bradford should be fine just having a year to try and steady the ship.

That's how I read it when looking at the squads. There's no way in hell top half of the table is possible without some pretty major recruitment. Even 8th seems quite pie in the sky. I would expect to be down there at the bottom, but equally looking at Oldham & Whitehaven's squads, there's nothing in there that makes me think they're going to be anything but bottom 2. Injuries, inspiring coaches etc. could make a difference, but if the game was played on paper (which we all know it isn't), I'd be looking at about 11th or 12th as the most likely placing for us this year. Not gonna encourage many people to attend, but equally if that's what it needs to get the books balanced, it's hard to argue with the policy.

Agree whay others have said. I don't think we'll get relegated, but there's no way we're going for the play-offs as the championship is such a tough league. There's going to be some very good teams who miss out on the play-offs. Toulouse, London, Leigh, Fev, York, Widnes, Fax.
I think we'll be stronger than teams like Oldham & Whitehaven etc (famous last words) I think we have a decent enough 17 that on its day could beat anyone, but as soon as Injuries bites that's when we're really going to struggle.
On the friendly, I didn't go but I suppose this is the game to have a nightmare (which is what it sounded like) doesn't sound like Kears impressed we've so many friendlies again. Wonder if he'll Send a weaken side to York.

I dont think playing weakend teams in league games and try to pick and choose which games you can win is a very sensible strategy. Need to play the strongest team every week
