It's tragic really. I knew a bloke from Birkenshaw with MND who was a lifelong Rhino, fought to his last days and always remembered as a top bloke. The same has been said for Rob.
As a young fan I never liked him, but that was only because I feared him so much. His pace was lightning, and it terrorised defences year in year out.

Truly awful news. The little fella broke my heart many times by creating or scoring tries against us alongside McGuire. I was already in tears watching his interview on TV when I took a phone call informing me that a lifelong friend and staunch Northern / Bulls supporter had passed away that morning. A very sad day indeed. I think there will be a very good crowd at Headingley on January the 12th.
When I just read this on the Bulls website, it brought a big lump to my throat. Such a good player, always commanded respect when he played against us(and all other teams as well) God be with you Rob, I never knew you personally, but it makes me proud to call you by your first name..
