I'll have to take your word for it, I know nothing of the bloke other than what I've seen on the pitch and read regarding his recent ban. I would of thought Kear would have enough friends in the game to gauge whether Barlow was worth a punt on.

Squad depth is now the issue. Our 4 starting props would probably be Crossley, England, Barlow & Kirk. Which is pretty good for championship. But injuries & suspensions will probably bite.

But surely if we DR with Toronto they won’t have a big enough squad to commit players out on minimum 28 day loan periods so to keep them fit they will to DR them out a week at a time to keep them match fit? If they haven’t got reserves what else will they do?

what i can see (even though we are grunting our front row) and others have mentioned is ... our creativity ... last year we started with 4 halves?? and all got injured. Looks like we have 2 Lilley and (on loan) Milnes. with these 2 fit we arnt gonna create nothing. With the Dews pitch being so constaint, it will be straight up the middle where halves are not gonna be an issue. Survival only this season (and i will be banging the drum from afar) so bring on 2021

Last time I don’t think we got anything as we weren’t that bothered. Surely DR with a super league large squad will mean these players play in a reserve side and not out on DR? A DR with a ream with no reserves and no where else to play seems a better option to me?...

Not necessarily.
It would depend on how the coaches value the different competitions and the particular players involved. Maybe the Championship would be a better fit to bring on certain 'fringe' players than the reserve league? In any case, isn't a reserve side compulsory in SL this season, or have I got that wrong?
