I'm sure we all agree that formally honouring past players is a noble initiative, but surely this is a project that should be brought forward once the club is back on a stable financial footing.
I don't want to pour cold water over it but, yeah, it does seem a bit premature. It's not
that long since we had a 'team of the century' announced (though, Perez wouldn't know that, I'm sure) and, to be honest, reminding everyone about the teams we've had relatively recently isn't the way I'd go about enthusing the disilliusioned masses.
It reminds me a bit like the old Jim Bowen phrase on the old 'Bullseye' TV programme when the participants had lost the jackpot - "come and look at the prize you could have won!
