It's not that different

Not really sure what point you are trying to make but clearly Argyle's ambitions go beyond Toronto since he wants to expand into US cities such as Philidelphia. TWP have just launched a global membership package aimed at international fans. In terms of their current ground, they look to further upgrade over the winter and aim to attract crowds in excess of 10,000 next season.

So on that basis its unsustainable with even at 10k marque player wages will not be covered.
Which is ok as long as owner keeps pumping money in, my point is does that then push other clubs to overspend?
As for his other ambitions major flaw in that plan with ownership issues of more than 1 club

I can't see what is happening at TWP making any difference to DH's approach. There may be some things he could learn though.

So you suggesting DH spend beyond his means?
My issue is general over the RFL community not just DH it's about the wage war that could be triggered in SL and is that a situation we want to see.

DH clearly won't spend beyond his means but I doubt Argyle will either. In terms of what DH could learn, perhaps about how to build a crowd rather than letting the club stagnate.

DH is a classic case of you can’t teach an old dog new tricks.

Shake your chains to earth like dew
Which in sleep had fallen on you--

Keep knocking DH.
But dont really see how the way argyle is funding TWP is that much different from DH or MK at salford when he was there.
Look at it over the whole game rather than criticising DH.
Are team like wakey, Hudds, Hull never mind leeds saints going to get drawn into overspending on a stupid scale.
Is SBW worth the money he is getting in respect of payback?
Salary cap was brought in to try to reign in overspending, what the marquee player rule and what TWP have spent on one player is making it open season on spending.
Unless it generates the big TV deal I would not be surprised in 5 or 10 years we see more clubs in UK going the way of Bradford.
As for DH dont bite the hand that feeds you.

Argyle has spent £12.7m so far in 3 seasons. That is going to increase significantly given TWP will forgo their £2m central distribution and have signed SBW on a massive deal.

By his own estimates, DH has put in around £20m since 2001.

They are both carrying their club but in substantially different ways.

Not sure there ever will be another big TV deal. The quality of play doesn't warrant it. You only have to look at how our Championship team almost survived due in part by the leveling down in quality of the bottom third of Super League.

How much will Leeds have to break the cap by to return to top 4?

Leeds as well as other clubs that broke the rules have been caught and have been punished.
Interesting view you dont think there will be a decent TV deal. If that's the case then it makes the case of unsustainability even worse, and one owner being able to and willing to pay stupid money for no real gain to the profile of the sport brings up the question should it be allowed! In order to compete if argyle builds his legacy, other owners are going to have to find millions to keep up.
Result is actually in the end less money into the sport.
