I think this is the case, but perhaps more an effort/quantity problem than scouting ability. I think Warrington as a club have realised that now. When the Rylands team was signed up by Saints there seemed to be a lot of consternation at Warrington, lots of talk at kids rugby about why and who blamed who. From my own experience, last year there was minimal involvement from Warrington at my lads junior side. Saints had been down a few times and invited a few to training camps, as had Wigan. But Warrington, bar a guy being at the school tournaments, hadn't. But this year and especially after the Rylands moment, they've been everywhere. There has been a Warrington coach/scout/community person at every single training session and home game this year and they've been really involved, talking to the players during and after training and games and coaching the coaches as well as the players. They've set up a system where the coach has to give match reports on certain players after every game and they've asked the coach to change the position of a couple of players. There are now a few lads in training camps with Warrington (As well as Saints and Wigan) and a couple have been offered one to one training with first team players and coaches.

We've now got a "big personality for the dressing room". Well #### me backwards. To say I won't lose sleep, is an understatement. NZ Warriors didn't want him, Widnes can't afford him.
So, our centres for next year, are Gelling One trick King and the bloke from Union, that looks lost.
Whoopy flippin do
Also a fair few of the Widnes fans are happy to see him gone.
He was a massive disappointment.Missed plenty of games and wasn't at all outstanding in most of the ones he played in.Has only played about 24 games in 2 years and what pace he had at Wigan is gone, not that he was a speed merchant anyway. He'll be solid for Wire but nothing more.He won't improve the team.

It’s a rather mixed bag to say the least
I think we're all forgetting that the club has a reserve team to run thats capable of also coming in and doing the odd job at SL level next season. Our current academy arn't up to that so the signings like Kibula, Ashton and Brand are going to be low budget on the cap and there for squad depth next season at least.
Widdop and Gelling (Not impressed with his signiture in the slightest) are our only real first team signings so far. I'd expect a couple more names before the GB Tour.
I expected you to announce Joel Tomkins in the next week or so.
RICHARDS IS SUPERMAN!!!!

What was Wigan's obsession with Wire players?
Seriously not trying to be funny but i think the difference in those comparisons is that only possibly Charnley has improved your side. Not that it means anything really though. Players move from club to club until they find on that suits them and the club. Not many 1 club men these days.
Still disappointing that according to the league express we are still looking for a prop and seem to be nowhere nearer to signing anyone. Looks like a case of us just signing whoevers able like we've done in the past. Really thought we would have been nearly done with a Prop by now, it's not like the lack of forward power situation only popped up a few weeks ago it's been an issue all year.

Annoyingly, it wouldn't surprise me if we (like has been stated before) were waiting for the nrl season to finish and for clubs to be looking at next year and where players will get squeezed out for salary cap reasons, rather than hunting for specifics.
