James Clark interview in HDM. The comments below made by Clark concern me.
“We look at players who have the best character, the best temperament, players who suit the style Lee Radford and Andy Last want us to play, it’s not about just going out to try and sign the best players."
“We felt the market place last year wasn’t suited to the type of players we wanted to bring in“
At least it confirms what we already know, we only know 1 way to play and will not be deviating from that. Looks again like the powerful run over the top of 'em barge over the line rugby will persist.

Some people are going to moan about everything that happens and is said in the off season.
Last season has gone, we have recruited well and Radford has proven he can win big games (I don't buy the style thing, as we played that style in 2016/17, but not many complained).
Personally I'd have changed cocah, but we have Radford, so how about we try and look at the many positves about our club and once the season starts then we can focus on the negatives (hopefully they wont be many).
I'm looking forward to next season, certainly more than the I did for the one just gone, I feel we have a team who should challege, if we don't then Radford will be gone.

That style of play was perfect with Watts and a dominant front row. We need to have our edge players like Mau Jones Savelio and Griffin running wide, another prop with aggression balances the team for me.
I totally agree with the rest of your post, a really good looking squad assembled by Radders and funded by AP, some exciting backs with Jake Mahe Ratu, and a promising hooker to spell Houghton, we will be up there next season, and I can’t wait.

It is Ma'u.
It is a very good squad assembled, I'd be very disappointed if we're not up there challenging come the business end of the season.
Best recruitment in the league by far imo, only Wigan's comes anywhere near.
Definitely a make or break season for Radford what with the quality of player at his disposal.

Looking back at 2016 we looked so much better with Pritchard on the edges and a fairly quick ptb, he just became used in effect as another prop it we looked so much worse for that.
Hopefully with Jones and Ma'u (upgrades to both Sika & Mini) we will use them on the edges and with an improvement in the speed we ptb and distribution from dummy half we can utilise the ability and size we have and really be a threat along with the wing/centre combinations we have available.
This should allow for us not to rely so heavily on the forwards to gain metres as we just end up flogging them to death in games and once they start running out of steam our game plan is FUBAR.
We were so close in 2016 the way we played early in that season and were devastating, with the players in the 2020 squad it is an improvement on the 2016 but we have to use the edges properly and not just as extra forwards.
I really enjoy long walks especially when they are taken by people I don't like!
