And the travel to and from Durham and the away games , and the tickets I bought for family, and the shirts, and club lotttery, and the food and drink that went with it. Probably talking 2 to 3 grand a season

No other posters can make their own minds up on what to do.

But I am not going to put money into a club that is so badly run that it can only effectively lurch from crisis to crisis.

I was happy to follow Huddersfield when they were poor but the situation for the last few years seems to me to be entirely made by those that run the club.

Regardless of the number of fans or money coming in there is no excuse for the poor recruitment, the incompetence of the managers the inability to get little things right. If people like Bilko cannot get through to buy tickets that is just second rate service.

Yet no one is held to account.

Still people like Spaines road fartown and Jools will say keep the faith, we are only two or three signings from being a good team and peddle the lies that come from Thewlis et al. I gave up believing in the promised land as soon as I left all saints.

I made my choice and feel happier for it.

For someone who claims to “support” the giants I’m yet to see any evidence of that.

fartown since 1961 wrote:I have only one slight negative with this.

Whilst I will pay the £149.00 this season, I will be 64, it seems a bit obtuse that from 16 years old I and many more older than me have paid either full price at the gate or in most seasons bought a full price season ticket whatever the price and it has fluctuated.

My argument would be that the 65 (not me this season) and overs should also get the £80.00 ticket as the current generation have no more and in most cases a lot less disposable money than people in their mid to late twenties and between thirty and sixty five.

I think the offer is very fair for the majority but for the over 65’s if the aim is to get numbers in the ground the club has missed a trick as many older fans come as a couple and there’s a big difference between £160.00 for two people and £298.00 when in a lot of cases pensions are the only income.

Seems daft but we could lose as many as we gain and surely we should reward those who have been coming for many years and supporting the team?

I look at it this way- over 65s are still paying less than at most other clubs even at £149. At Cas and wakey they pay more than this to STAND. They aren’t paying any more than anyone else- and marketing wise it makes more sense- without sounding insensitive how many over 65s are suddenly going to get interested in the giants when they haven’t before? My mum did at 70ish- but it’s not the norm, and she’s 80 next year so future wise there’s less return from someone like my mum. Younger people have potentially more outlets demanding on their resources leisure wise - so makes sense to target them more ferociously.
From the club point of view People over 65 are more likely to already be lifelong fans and are less likely to not renew regardless. So less lost revenue.

well i suppose i will renew my season ticket but would get more enjoyment throwing the money in the river than what the giants have given me in the last few years or so

Silly question that we don't have 25,000 fans, but it's a fair bet that unlike your club, at those prices we would sell more than you.
