Having checked via google, I'm fairly certain in order to remove a director 28 days notice is required to pass an ordinary resolution (more than 50% of members). Michael Steele (per the last count) owned less than 50% so would need the support of another shareholder and even then the formalities have to be followed regarding the 28 days notice no matter how much of a ball ache and how few shareholders there may be.
I agree with you, Pellon Boy, about how meetings can be held ad hoc to discuss certain matters, but as mentioned above to sack a director a notice period is required involving the members.
That's how I see it, and to be honest I think a knee jerk sacking for not hosting an event (surely this would have been known about long ago anyway?) seemed strange.
But whatever and however these resignations came about, there is obviously seems to be some major change afoot seeing that 2 of the only 3 directors have gone at the same time.

You are right. However, they may have voluntary resigned following the 'car park' board meeting.
I would suggest however that it has moved pretty quickly should the 'sacking' have taken place yesterday. Companies House are quick to upload filed company updates but not usually that quick.
Looks like crossroads time yet again for the club .think my camels back has nearly gone off field rather than on field i might stress. And thereby lies a glimmer of hope for the future. Good luck to anyone left on board the ship or to preferably new people who may wish to sail her to new waters
OK, could be the possibility of being asked to resign and because they're not remunerated they just did the honourable thing.
Hopefully this might open the door for more visionary people to hop on board and get things moving. The fan base is stagnating at best which is such a shame given the passion and loyalty of "the few".
As I've said, the club needs to be much more adventurous and make game day more than just a rugby event. New fans won't be attracted paying 19 quid for just a 2nd tier rugby match, especially when there is so much more alternative better for value stuff to do, eg a burger and 7 pints in Wetherspoons! If it helps by giving away tickets to pubs / schools for the last 4 home matches then so be it.

Surely all this has nowt to do with not having an after match party? There was a party at OPO and believe me we had a party in Manchester and town. WTF!

I’m surprised you didn’t DR Hudds
I mean you’ve managed it every other thread, still recovering my old buddy?
With Croad, Turner, and Steele all at the game there is probably enough there to make it happen pretty quickly so its probably a case of resign or you will be voted out. By resigning it lets them leave with their reputations intact where as getting voted out always looks more sinister.
I guess the main thing for anyone new coming in and what is left of the people in charge will be sorting out the mess of playing contracts which it looks like Marshall had just about full control of which should never have happened and one of the first acts of the old board should have been to bring in someone experienced of dealing with playing contracts. Hopefully that is fixed in the short term but things need to be put in place in the near future to at the very least stabilise the club and stop it from going backwards.

Times change. If filed electronically, they're available in minutes.
