Why did the ref not blow for crossing on the first try but let play carry on just because he surrendered himself.Is that a new ruling?

Always has been like that
The offence is obstruction not crossing. If an attacker realises he has gone behind a player causing obstruction if he surrenders to the tackle it's no penalty

How bloody frustrating are this team? First half looked like a mid table championship team.
Second half they play like a team that should be challenging for a decent spot in SL.
How can theh be so different in two halves of the same game.
