Not too sure what the hold up is, but they will have their reasons.
Wouldn't disagree with much of the above.

Can only be a good thing if we've got our business done early. Hopefully means positive news on Milnes and Storton which are the two important ones to get re-signed on FT deals.

How old is Crossley? Would he be getting to the stage of retiring?

I agree he's looked lethargic recently (who hasn't?). I think he's still worth another year IF he is rotated more, and used for less minutes.

Didn't go yesterday, but if it was as bad as people say, I think the list of departures could be pretty lengthy. After Fev away and now Leigh where we seem to have thrown the towel in towards the end of both games, JK will have a pretty good idea of who has the bottle for the fight and who hasn't. Players who haven't got the heart for when the going gets tough will get short shrift from the coach I suspect.

1 BRANDON PICKERSGILL - Needed more time at FB but has lost all confidence and looks a shadow of young talent that was emerging - Needs a fresh start/loan elsewehere
2 ETHAN RYAN - On wing he's one I'd love to keep; at FB he's not a loss - Re-sign if not already going to HKR
3 JAKE WEBSTER - Pretty solid and has given squad much needed experience - Another 1yr deal if body can hold up
4 ASHLEY GIBSON - Not good enough - Release
5 JY HITCHCOX - Missed through injury - Keep
6 JOE KEYES - Missed through injury - Keep
7
8 LIAM KIRK - Steady progress, worth keeping hold of - Keep
9 MATTY WILDIE - Has had a decent season so far, very consistent - Keep
10 STEVE CROSSLEY - Not been good enough for me, never lands on hands/knees so results in being super slow at play of the ball - Thanks but Release
11 MATTY GARSIDE - Not good enough - Release
12 ELLIOT MINCHELLA - Looks to be lacking confidence/form. Put a lot of that down to current tactics - Keep
13 MIKEY WOOD - Steady progress, defence looks more solid when on field, worth keeping hold of - Keep
14 JORDAN LILLEY - Already announced staying - Keep
15 CALLUM BUSTIN - Lacking fitness and form, but still has time on side and lots of potential - Keep
16 JAMES GREEN - Been one of the better forwards this year when fit - Keep
17 ROSS PELTIER - Doesn't take a step backwards - Keep
18 SAM HALLAS - Not good enough - Release
19 JON MAGRIN - Not good enough - Release
20
21 GEORGE FLANAGAN - Bradford through and through but found out this year - Release
22 DALTON GRANT - Not good enough - Release
23 GEORGE MILTON - Who??? - Release
24 DAVID FOGGIN-JOHNSON - Has done ok but positioning in defence is awful. Not good enough - Keep purely as back up
25 CONNOR FARRELL - Didn't like him at first but he's grown on me. Still lacks size and too greedy with ball but worth another year - Keep
26 ROSS OAKES - Has made a fair bit of progress this year - Keep
27 ROWAN MILNES - Still young and has shown some good prospect but no where near finished article - Keep
28 EVAN HODGSON - Prospect worth keeping to see how develops - Keep
29 MATTHEW STORTON - Been solid for first full season. Must try and tie down to long term contract if not too late - Keep
30
31 RHYS EVANS - Another missed through injury, worth another year - Keep
32 COLTON ROCHE - If can regain some kind of form worth another year - Keep

So you would release 8 players (rising to 9 if you include Pickersgill.
I disagree with your opinions re both Hallas and Crossley. I would definitely keep both - both have shortcomings( which player hasn't) but in quite a few matches have appeared in the man of the match ratings. Neither lack commitment or heart.
Pickersgill might benefit from a loan spell this season . I'm sure another pre season would be of benefit and a better judgement made next year.
I'd suspect at least 3 more Under 19's will progress to next year's first team squad .
Which leaves space for 3 experienced new signings - I favour a half back and a seasoned prop with the other position dependent on who is released.

In the same discussion he mentioned that two players had turned down new offers (presumably Ryan was one he was referring to), and another one was retiring.

Is George Milton actually still here? Have the club released him quietly? Injured? He would have been straight into the recent reserve games if available.

Pollsters doing Excellent job - say recent polls.

Interesting

Who would that be? We haven't exactly got a lot of older players. Crossley? Webster?
