It’s amazing how we can all watch the same game but see different things.

Yeah the ref was poor, but he didn’t drop off or miss tackles. He didn’t get the numbers wrong in defence just before half time so Wigan’s attack could have a 3 man overlap. He didn’t make Rovers attack absolutely clueless in the first half & not much better in the 2nd half.

That was a low quality match played by 2 poor teams.

Wigan were there for the taking, but rovers-regardless of the refs ineptitude-were not good enough!

The only plus point is that the effort was there for longer than the usual 40 minutes we are used to.

We all know MickeyMouse isn't fit to ref a kids game so there's no point arguing. Nothing we can do about the ref, there IS something we can do about our concentration level and the way we play.

Dagger had a great game (Sheens didn't give him a chance).
Owen Harrison had a great game (Sheens never played him, he just sat as a sub for 80 mins).
Addy was rubbish then got injured.
Mulhern played great (in the last 40 seconds).
Drinkwater was just awful (again).

Now Smith has seen them first hand, lets see what he can do to help them.

I thought Drinkwater was ok seems to be getting better every game to me

Dagger had a good 2nd half, he was pony in the 1st half, I actually wondered what he was meant to be doing....it looked like he was wondering the same thing.

Harrison had an ok game (not one player can claim they played “great” today) but need to run with more intent...he’s young, it’ll come.

Addy was rubbish, it says a lot when I’m wishing we at least had Tommy Lee at 9.

Drinkwater was very poor, the team lacked direction, he was the only halfback playing in his natural position for most the game. The lack of direction is his fault! The fact that the rest of the team didn’t run off him or for him can only be poor communication, or they don’t like him.

Where has the Mulhern from last season gone, if anyone knows can they please ask him to come back....I miss that guy.

The way Drinkwater was verbally abusing the linesman in the last 10 minutes, he might get a ban.

Mulhern is a shadow of himself.

The lack of direction is a big concern. Tomkins is not the type of captain we need right now. We need someone to start bossing the players around on the field.

His kicks were awful.

His passing was average.

He seems to paniced at times.

Tell me how, in such a pivotal roll, how these are good things.

I noticed him giving the linesman some verbals after the 49/20. Like I said from where I stand the ball was close enough to the 20m mark for it to be debatable. It certainly wasn’t as deep as the linesman gave which was about 15m from our try line. I’ll have to watch it back on KRTV, but it would be good to hear from someone who was in line with the 20m mark as there view will be better than mine was.
