I've just re-read my post and I a/ commented that a pie, regardless of when it was served, is a tad stereotypical b/ That a friends daughter held her reception at Trailfinders and was impressed c/ That it would seem from many other comments that the Hospo on offer wasn't up to scratch.
I didn't claim that it was rubbish, I just pointed out that from what had been said on here, it wasn't of the standard that I would expect from hospitality......it my well be fan-friggin'-tastic......but the glowing feedback on here and other boards hasn't been forthcoming!
JESUS WEPT HOW MANY TIMES????? £20 a ticket and £15 on beer and merchandise.....so an away fan is worth £35. At best, 1,000 is the average away support split across 11 rounds and I am being really generous here, so Toronto, replacing say Wakefield will cost a SL club £35,000. The minimum turnover of a SL club is £4,000,000 so Toronto instead of Widnes is worth less than 1% of a SL clubs turnover.
There are many valid reasons for and against expansion into America, but "AWAY FANS" isn't one of them.
CMG I never said you were talking rubbish. I said you cannot comment if you do not partake and by your own admission you have not experienced LB hospitality this season . I also pointed out that this year the standard was considerably improved - which believe me it needed to as last year was dross. I pointed out LB were offering the same as your friends / colleagues hospitality were doing which is Main Meal , Dessert, Player at the table, player interviews, injury updates, chat with sponsors, parking place, entry to the game , programme and a team sheet and not forgetting tea and coffee after the meal and at half time and entrance to the player lounge. Not a bad deal.
Bosty, I go to rugby to watch rugby not have lunch or fill up with beer. I did say if I got offered a choc bar and dessert I would be hacked off though. As for pie and mash, hey its lunch at a rugby club not a wedding reception so actually would not surprise me. In fact the one time I have done hospitality at rugby game was warrington and yep was pie and chips! I got a free invite by the way so rude to turn it down. But £30 for the upgrade to hospitality take off £10 parking £3 prog say £5 for seat in stand 2 x coffee another fiver Looks like food cost about 7 quid in total. Nit sure it's a big money maker for the club
NB. Hospitality is part of the clubs marketing. First time visitors may be tempted to take up the hospitality and the poor fare on offer shows the club in a poor light. Continually the club shoots itself in the foot.

Thats a shame, this week it is Pressed Pork Belly, parsnip puree, served with caramelised apples and red wine jus Apple Tart Tatin with vanilla ice cream and my 4 x hospitality tickets are going spare.
However you've made your choice so I respect that you would not want to go back on your word
