Elephant in the room !!!!! too many of senior squad (mainly forwards) unsure about futures at FC /or definitely finished at end of this season - pearson and radders well aware of it and our new signings indicate solution ongoing.
regardless of professionalism players are not fully motivated in this situation and not prepared to put bodies 100% on line week in week out. they are contracted now and not paying pay for play /win . will look after themselves to get next contract .
have a look at fc 17 announced for magic - in forwards only tag and bowden are 100% committed to us next season - fash is still contracted next season but not going to be in 17 .
washy , mini , pretty sure finished as players. sika probably going home.
hadley, paea and green not signed up our new offers and waiting for better offers = in limbo = not fully inclusive.
westy looks like he has got better deal than we offered with cas/Leeds and his application was questionable. A man with the potential to replace lockers in GB squad not able to maintain fitness levels to achieve full potential. I noticed tag ignore him at wire in try celebs. not popular in squad maybe so sad but likely to go home.
I think this is the most likely reason for our current lack of commitment. They obviously chose to win at wire and have the ability /fitness . the main criteria lacking is consistent winning at all costs mentality. I suspect and hope for fans sake they turn up V cats because they owe some level of respect to the fans who wasted money going to magic and were sadly let down.
I have been really surprised under radders that we lack mongrel and metal toughness based on his character and playing style so I looked for another reason maybe out of his short term control. I was surprised and disappointed that he indicated on post match radio interview he had no reason or solution to offer for the capitulation so i started to analyse situation. maybe I am not 100% there but must have impact .
looking forward to CCup semi because if this team decides it wants to compete it can beat anybody. also looking forward to more new signings in forwards as clear we need a new committed pack to dominate . Backs are good enough to win stuff.

Great post swissfan pretty much nailed it, it’s a crazy system, halfway through the season, players are signed/moved/retired, same for everyone though I suppose.

Yep its same for everyone but you you know about it and have to plan not to leave yourself exposed by having so many out of contract. we clearly made some bad recruitment decisions pre season for reasons I dare not speculate on in this public forum
If his head is in the right place then I would be very sorry to see Westerman leave. He's an outstanding player when he wants to be.
However, if Cas really want him, maybe this might set the ball rolling (sooner rather than later)....
Quote:Sources have told League Express that Wigan have made it clear that they would like to bring Clark to the club earlier if possible, with a mid-season switch mooted by the Warriors to bolster their squad and their faltering play-off push.
However, Castleford are understood to be reluctant to let Clark leave unless a player was allowed to move in the opposite direction – making any such transfer highly unlikely at present.
Is Hodgson the new Griffin, or is it all about pace?

Could we not drop our alleged interest in a player who has to be paid £100,000+ from Australia, switch our interest to Seb Ikihifo, who presumably would cost less.
Then increase Westy offer, which once again is allegedly the stumbling block.
At the risk of being shot down, I do think that Westerman should leave. He s been here before , and besides one stellar season has nt lived up to expectations. To me he isn’t disciplined enough, and has brought disruption to the team off the field. The lad can play don’t get me wrong but you have to question why Warrington let him go to toronto after paying such a large transfer fee, and then was soon booted out of Toronto in less than 3 months. He comes across as an “ everything’s about me type player”, rather than a team player,. Think given a decent run Hadley could play LF, and use the money on a couple of beast s in the forwards

Simple I suppose, maybe to simple.
We have inquired about ikihifo but at hudds he’s on way more than £100k , which we won’t match or go anywhere near . Only chance of signing him is if he drops his demands or hudds chip in .

Wow it makes you wonder how Huddersfield can afford to pay these type of wages, I wouldn’t have believed it, Ken Davy must have some wealth.

I don’t think he’s played much this season has he , if not that could be down to getting paid more if he plays . I do like him , but rightly so we won’t pay him what’s he’s on there . Probably why hudds were after offloading him last season .

Spot on, Davey would rather let an out of favour player sit in the stands then help get an unwanted/want away player go elsewhere he did the same with Brough when we’d wanted him a few seasons ago.
