That was kind of my point, Ted Heath took us into Europe, and this dumb government can’t get us out of it, the steel industry, follows numerous others, in which Northern England especially has been crucified by the tories.

If you want to blame anyone for the demise of the Steel Industry, you need to be pointing the finger at China. Their steel industry is colossal compared to ours and it is they who are controlling the price of steel, something that we cant compete with.
The question is whether Steel should be "protected" and FWIW, even if we had never joined or, have left the EU, this situation would be exactly the same.

Who knows what would have happened without our EEC participation. “No one”
Of course the Chinese market is super powerful, no argument there, should we have stopped producing our cars because of the USA dominating the world, our steel, coal, National Health service, etc should have been protected at all costs by this Tory government.
As an aside the French are still producing steel and exporting millions of tonnes of it, perhaps because of the Chinese only a 3% share of the market, but nevertheless it employs French people.

Interesting citing of the motor industry. Although there is still significant production of motor vehicles in the UK, how many are produced by British owned companies ? https://www.borro.com/uk/insights/blog/ ... ds-owners/

Worst PM until her successor! Tories going for a hat-trick of worst ever PMs! Mind you selfie-Rory could be a dark-horse (and he seems like he's not a bad as the utter dross of other contestants).

Look at his voting record; a few earnest videos and a weird offer to meet in Kew Gardens won't expunge the fact that he's just another in a long line of ba$tards - the major difference between him and the rest is that he's not grandstanding about crashing out of the EU to woo back the Farage fan club.
