Heard something about Thompson. Heard it was a permanent deal though. Not sure why he was re-signed to be honest. We’ve only used him begrudgingly this year.

Reading the NRL forums he is highly rated and can play LF as well as prop Maybe a replacement for Westerman? Hope you are right Dave. Hopefully WiIdie is correct about Thompson as well. The only player we are linked with who is not rated is Evans.

Hastings played 28 NRL games in 2016/17 and the start of 2018, but certainly didn't play 50% of games in the last 24 months of his contract (which was terminated in June 2018). Maybe they use a Duckworth Lewis Method to overcome any shortfall in games.

Evans was awesome and raw when he first started playing for Roosters, proper enforcer in the mould of Watts, maybe he has gone off the boil a bit. I haven't watched much NRL for a few years but was surprised that he seems to have fallen down in the pecking order in his current team.

It's a similar situation for Blake Ayshford, who was eyeing a move to Hull Kingston Rovers this year, but he didn't feature in any NRL games last season, so couldn't get a work permit.
