Had the ref actually stopped the game when the scuffle broke out ? That part of the incident could potentially have been avoided.
It’s me again! Unfortunately that is not the rule, the game is not stopped mid flow! Even when the doctor comes on the field it’s the next break in play not mid flow.
There was no delay in medical staff getting to the injured player.
That’s the pro game protocol, play stops at next tackle or breakdown in play after an obvious head injury, if it’s not head and player is not in area where play is likely to go to, unless doc comes on it’s play on. It’s not the ref call to decide the severity of the injury.
