It’s a pity I can’t get to evening matches because of work commitments, but at least I got to watch it.

I have to say, I never thought McIntosh would make an SL level full back (always felt he’d end up as a centre, possibly even international level centre) but he’s proving me completely wrong. He’s obviously put a hell of a lot of work into his positioning and high ball catching.

One of those things it’s nice to be wrong about. Let’s hope I was right about the international bit though!

Our pack last night was immense. Really glad that Matagi is starting to put in runs like his highlights video showed he could! Ikahihifo looked back to his belligerent best, swatting off defenders and causing some carnage in the middle as well. Much better from Uate as well, i think summer is going to bring a lot more from him when it finally arrives. I'm pretty sure we would have beaten Wakefield comfortably if Gaskell had played, maybe Holmes will be a decent replacement when he has another of his inevitable 1 game absences, which i dislike, but i guess that's going to be how it is with him. At least he's good when he does play now.

matagi may prove a good one yet, just goes to show the overseas players can take time to settle in

Re Gaskell and injuries, I'd rather a player put his hand up and say I don't feel right and miss one week, than play a game, get an injury and be out for 3 months.
