On the lease running out etc (which I believe means that it will no longer be mandatory for RL to be played there) I don't believe for a second the council will cash in and leave us homeless.
The council and Bulls seem to have a good relationship and despite what people think, they don't want to lose the Bulls.
I think it will be business as usual IMHO I'd be confident Chalmers is working hard in the background.
If there was some joined up thinking the council and RFL could sell the land and freehold to a housing developer. Housing developer builds new houses (think I'm right in saying that the government demands the council has to build a certain number of houses each year) the council use some of the money to build a nice new stadium on the vacant Richard Dunns site strengthening one of the city's assets and therefore in bringing people from outside the city. (and be used for other events such as the world Cup etc) to pump money into the local economy. Everyone would be a winner. I can but dream
