I’m down in London today - my wife’s repatriation flight back to Pnom Penh is tomorrow and I want to make sure she gets on the plane. So I’ve watched the first half on the Ourleague app - George Riley really doesn’t like us does he? The bias is totally ridiculous and when he said we’d stolen the half time lead I got fed up of listening to him.

I’ve got Mick on Pulse 2 now for the second half. Far more professional.

Not heard George “crater face” Riley on radio 5 for a couple of years either. Wonder what happened to him?

Can't comment on this match but when I watched us play Sheffield on the OuRLeague app it did feel biased against us I have to say, but it was mainly Andrew Henderson.

Henderson cheered Dewsbury on to score at one point and groaned when they didn’t.

As far as I know he is still suspended by BBC.

Henderson's normally as unbiased as you are going to get, to be fair. A few years ago he was commentating on a Fev-Leigh playoff game where his brother Kevin was playing for Leigh. Near the end Kevin was guilty of a bad high tackle on a Fev player. Before the ref had even pulled his card out (it was a straight red), Andrew said something like "I know he's my brother, but that's a bad one." Can think of plenty of people in the same situation who would have glossed over it or made excuses.

Pretty sure that for the end of season reviews in the noughties, we used to use footage from Cas when we played them home and away. Mick Morgan would go mental for anything Cas did, whether it be a tackle break or a looping pass, but would cuss and moan at the ref for everything we did well. If you wanna see bias, look no further than the legend Mick Morgan!

A cart spake.

I mean, why would anyone who played for Sheffield for 4 years have any kind of natural bias towards them?

I watched it today on the App and I can't say I picked up any bias. I'm not a fan of Riley by any means, but I thought the commentary was fairly good. I'd sooner listen to that than the idiots Sky have in the booth every week (Clarke & Cummings) or the (understandable) massive bias of absolutely every local radio station.

Because he's an enthusiastic fan of the game. He's like that all the time.

The paranoia of so many RL fans thinking people are biased against them is amazing. If you listened to them all, then somehow every commentator would be biased against every team.

Henderson comes across quite well in my opinion. I’ve not heard the coverage today as I was attending the game. George Riley I always felt had some affiliation with Leeds which is potentially why he isn’t keen on the Bulls.

If you see Riley's social media, he doesn't even try to hide the fact he's a Leeds fan, both in RL and Football. Not since he left the BBC anyway. I say left, everyone just assumed he left as he's now working elsewhere and nothing was ever said after the announcement of his suspension. It's not hard to find why he was suspended if you do enough googling, but I've never seen the outcome of whatever followed that suspension.

Regardless of whether that was true or not though, I don't think his commentary was all that bad. And Andrew Henderson I think is excellent as far as knowledge and enthusiasm. He's clearly just someone who loves watching the game and gets excited at the same things the folk on the terraces do, but with a lot better knowledge and experience of being on the pitch.
