We had a full discussion on t his forum regards cocaine when Zak Hardaker fell foul and received his ban. My thoughts at the time were and still are that recreational drugs such as coke is widely used amongst the population of the UK. Possibly as high as 60%. As far as I’m aware, cocaine is not habit forming and is not a performance enhancer. If anyone is found to be using it, education and rehabilitation, should be the primary finding of any investigation. The construction industry, generally, has a zero tolerance regards drugs and I have often written to employers asking them to revisit there employment policy. I was soundly castergated by some posters on here at the time of Hardakers ban but these people need to wake up and smell the coffee.
As much as I rarely agree with you, I have to on this one, I have friends who are coke addicts that I don't like socialising with beyond a certain point of the day.

Interesting read. I was referring to casual use of coke, not crack. I regard crack as an addictive substance usually after the first use. Any drug can be addictive to some people including alcohol. Not everyone who drinks becomes an alcoholic, just the same for coke marijuana users. That’s the reason I would prefer to go with education and rehabilitation, rather than outright castigation. People who get sacked for casual use probably despair into deeper use to combat the mental stress caused by this action.

We all know coke or sniff as they now call it is rife in sport and rugby league. Bigger than some of you may imagine. Ive heard many first hand stories or Super League players (and coaches) being 'on it' but the thing with coke is 48 hours later its gone from your system so to get caught means youve had it very recently before training or close to a game which is very stupid as there is a come down from it that can only make performance poorer. There are also rumours abound that clubs get the nod when theyre gonna get tested and players stay away

nope, a hair test will cover a month or so, like alcohol.
