To be fair to Austin, he did say in the interview afterwards (as Mr Fantastic Catpiss has mentioned) that it was a good opportunity to practice for closer games which will inevitably come up. Although Austin has been class, he doesn't come across as arrogant or flash at all, in fact quite the opposite. He's very down to earth and modest/realistic about the club's and his performance.

Agree with you with the rider that this would not be the scenario in a real close game due to the absence of opposition pressure on him. In this instance Hull did not show any interest in blocking the attempt as there was little point in doing so.

Blake has stated he was just having a practice . It’s Rugby League. The game was put to bed early doors , The Warrington players will have been out on their feet .

The one pointer gave players a rest and gave Blake practice should he need to do a similar kick in a closer game .

100% agreed, and to say he was practicing is even more of a p15s take. But the biggest mickey take was the team selection, tactics and attitude.

Like last year?

Well it’s not like last year really, it was a different format, which really failed, and created meaningless fixtures, plus if memory serves we were crippled by an injury list which deprived us of our virtual first team, we muddled through.

Now this year we’ve been average, but apart from Wakey and Wire could have won the rest. So hopefully with a complete local front row, Taylor Houghton Bowden, “how many teams can say that” Jake & Jamie back, last year was last year.
