My understanding of the term Yankee, originates from the Indiginous Native word Yengese, meaning English, in relation to the original white settlers and became the term for all Americans. The term is not derogatory, a very popular Philip Souza composition “Over There” has the words “ The Yanks are coming”. Snowflakism has found new bounds
