Deja Vu anyone? New coach same old story. Will this one have the gonads to drop players he brought over and hyped up? I surely hope so. If a player plays as badly as Uate did tonight and still gets picked next week, what message does that give to the rest of the team? Need to dual reg him to Batley so he can decide if he really wants to be over here or not, and if not, do the decent thing and ask for a release from his contract.

Frawley is a waste of space too.

Blake Austin illustrated what a good Aussie signing looks like. Good passer, great kicking game. Man of the match by far.

These days Giants just buy second raters or has beens over for a holiday.

To be fair, its not for want of trying to sign better players, but for one reason or another, they never get them. We were linked with at least 3 halfbacks over the closed season (and before) but couldn't get any of them to sign. We rely on signing unknowns who turn out to be world beaters (Costin for example), but more often than not are duds. Very difficult job being the coach of a 2nd tier SL side as Mr Woolford is now finding.

tough start to the season this! as it stands i think we will be in the bottom 3. but you never know when we start to click...if we ever do like last season we can get winning again but its always too late by then

we were ok in patches lastnight, showed wire far too much respect and austin..showed have got in their faces and hit austin...he hit wardle with a high shot and wardle had to go off... got away with the joel tomkins one other week too.

walne has impressed, well done to him but looks like he will get a ban now typical.

mcintsoh, mcgillvary and taai the only others who can make a difference, too many are pretty much average at the moment.

still got a lightweight pack which wasnt rectified pre season, maybe woolford is banking on a good summer and throwing the ball about.

james child was again poor for us, just dont know what he has against us!!! thought it was brough but it isnt.

frawley and uate the two big signings arent cutting it at the moment..still time but for now frawley looks like he would go well in the championship and uate has sent his twin brother

we struggle to attract players to the club nowadays, we have to offer them longer contracts to try get a deal

we had jackson hastings but didnt want to wait for him to decide yes or no ...in hindsight maybe we should have given him more time to think about it!

The reason we struggle to attract the right type of player GIANTSRL is because of the reputation the club has of being a losers club. It's taken many years to build this reputation up and it will take a long time to change it ( if we ever can ) The only chance IMO is to have a complete change of management, God knows whoever has been running it for the last couple of decades has demonstrated their complete inability.

We have no one who shows any sign of being able to spot a decent player , we have people who know how to pay out heavy money in the hope we have got decent players and how to keep re-signing players we have let go years earlier as not good enough, while at the same time we have young players at the club, better players who can't get in the side .
We have a new halfback now who people are already starting to rubbish, and fair comment he is not pulling up any roots , but what halfback would be able to shine behind a pack like the Giants, they get a good tubbing from every pack they face, Even with three men in the tackle they still can't put the man down and get dragged backwards 10 yds . When it's the other way round how many of our players fight to get up and get a quick play the ball ( gerry ) they lay there like two pound of tripe and just wait their turn to get up.

Remember D Brough winning man of steel, thats because he was playing behind a pack that could hold it's own, and was always kicking and controlling the game from a go forward position, ( like he did for Wakey on Thursday )Last few seasons people have been screaming for him to go, and fair enough it may well have been time, but we would have been just as well to have got rid on a lot of the dead wood that we call Forwards Now we have a bunch of players who couldn't get the better of the local amateurs forwards,
Every side we play against can go the length of the field in 5 tackles against us and be putting high bombs up, whereas our halves are inevitably kicking from our own half, because they are playing behind a bunch of players who dont have what it takes ( for whatever reason ).

We have some very good young players coming through, most of the one's who make very good players will be the one's that move to other clubs, I know we have a couple who have done well with us Cudjo and Gerry are obvious examples ( how many tries would Gerry have scored had he been at Leeds or Cas )

Anyway all this endless mediocrity is destined to go on and on and on until there is an acceptance that the club needs to change it's DNA and for that to happen it's going to take a massive upheaval off the field before they can even start on the field, It's not just about money either' there are clubs with far less money than the Giants being run far better.

Personally i don't expect anything to change because i don't believe there is anyone at the club with either the drive ,the know how or the inclination to do anything about it, They are all making a comfortable living ,why rock the boat, and to be honest i don't really care, Stuff like last night isn't worth trailing down to watch really , Warrington were free wheeling for much of the game. I got a season ticket again this year but i don't see it getting much use, it's not much fun going down to see your team outclassed every week.

rfl decide no forearm was used in the adam walne v chris hill incident

so there you go we got the rough end of a decision again.... sin binning and total turn around in the game at that point

5 incidents all against hudds players for the rfl to look at only 1 was worth a penalty

So child sent off walne incorrectly.
Where are all the fans of the other teams screaming for hill to be banned for cheating?

Funny how he was perfectly alright after his free 15 minute “rest”

about as funny as stick Ive taken on another forum questioning refs "neutrality"
..............but I promise to be more sympathetic to the hard work they put in !!

Watched most of the sky games last weekend with a neutral viewpoint (as we`re bottom anyway) and feel really sorry for them(refs/linesmen) Might feel moreso if they reffed from a similar angle !!
I sometimes feel you could almost predict who will get the points after about 20mins

...........or is it only me feels they affect results week in week out and the standard isnt appropriate for a professional sport?
Perhaps so!

By the way - dont think video works when not at all games - thats inconsistent too!!
We are told it does when you can "slow the frame second by second " and then hear a commentator say it that its"better viewed in real time "

Whichever fits the script !!
