Ignoring some of the cack being written on here, specifically about apparent lack of skill and team skills being poor (I’d be interested to know what some people say bench marks are as last nights games was great for the neutral, trouble is, no one on here is neutral, and some are not let nirt level enough to be objective). However, some observations,
We competed when many of our own fans thought it was a forgone conclusion of a result.
It wasn’t just the five drives and a kick which many suggested ( but let’s face it, it’s not really been like that since Agar)
Sneyd looked good and took the line on (granted he had to given he was the only real half we had) .
We actually took the few chances we had in the first half, a major criticism of other seasons. However we should have made more of the field position in the second half.
Dawson-Jones did ok for me. Looked quick. Certainly wasn’t the defensive nightmare some on here had predicted before kick off .. Our defense was good. they only scored off kicks.
MIni and Paea need to offer more going forward.
We lost at the end for not being game savvy. Perhaps the ball should have gone into touch. However, knowing they had time for just one full set of tackles, we should have e,played spoiling tactics to slow it down. Conceding a penalty would have eaten into a few vital seconds and allowed the defensive line to reset.

Hopefully a noteable signing announced early which can help with further recruitment. We announced Frank Pritchard in June 2015 followed by Tuimavave and Manu over the next couple of months.

We need two big powerful second rows a front row and centre. At the moment apart from two or three players we have no power in the forwards and no pace. Fans concerns around Minichello,Manu and Paea were clearly seen last night. We should remember we were playing a poor HKR team. They will get better as their new players start to gel. Our hopes are relying on kelly,Green,Bowden and Westerman returning but we could be 0-4 by then. Lets see how far away we are from a top four/five side when we play Castleford next week. With Connor back we should see a difference but we need something different off the bench. If Washbrook goes on the bench and Radford keeps faith with Paea we need another Front row as we are sadly lacking any interchange impact.

I was really impressed with the amount of ground that Shaul covered last night. Now, if only he could learn to go forward instead of sideeways he could be a world beater.
