Not bitter at all. I have no expectations this season and expect us to lose more games than we win. The game was a better spectacle than any of last years derbies due to the new rules but skill levels on both sides were poor. If you want to convince yourself otherwise go knock yourself out
Now I remember why I and many others don't bother coming on here anymore...predictable, boring and clichéd rhetoric. YAWN

He's doesn't know, it's called a prediction. Most bookies have them bottom three too.

Radford was proved right about the bench been the difference as we looked in control while Taylor and Masi were on but Garbutt and Greenwood came on and changed the game in their favour. Paea was totally anonymous with the ball and couldn't match Masi's workrate in defence who he replaced.
Thought our goal line defence was a massive plus though as we didn't look in any trouble at all barring the time Tomkins got 1 on 1 with Sneyd off the back of Garbutts carry the play before and a wonder tackle by Bureta on Keinhorst midway through the second half.
With the ball I thought we played more expansive than expected but it was too easy to defend as Rovers simply knew Sneyd and Washbrook didn't offer a running threat so they could work off them quicker than normal giving our 3/4ers hardly any room to work with and our backrowers weren't engaging their line either.

Watch again and you'll see Griffin gets drawn in. He's the centre. By getting involved he is out of the defensive line. He could have simply let Crooks do what he wanted and kept the defensive line intact. You note the try was scored because McGuire only had to draw in our winger
why would crooks want to catch the ball on the last play of the game when you need to score,, and you call radford ,, you pankcake thrower

Regardless of what happened at the end, the better team won. We will clearly be better with the missing players back but we are nowhere near good enough to compete with the best in SL. (Neither are Rovers)
All of the top sides will roll our pack which looks small, old and tired. We are badly missing Ellis, Watts and the 2016 versions of Minichello and Manu. Poor recruitment and retention has rendered this season transitional. Paea has been a very poor addition and last night he was awful. Minichello is finished and Thompson is a Championship player.
I don't actually think that Schofield's and Peacock's comments were too far off the mark. We look like a team that will finish bottom four and so do Rovers.

Connor will obviously make us better but Cas are a better side than Rovers and I can't see anything but another loss. Visits to Wigan and Hudds coming next and the pressure is going to pile up on Radford and Pearson.
The season could be over very quickly indeed and the "dynasty" has well and truly ended. Our squad needs to be overhauled which is a pretty depressing reality.

Only if positive players are available, and the player pool isnt massive either.

The recruitment/ retention policy will make this another “transitional” year. Fans patience will be in short supply due to how last year ended.
Rovers aren’t that good IMO (which makes last night even more frustrating) and Cas will be a stern test.

Yep, very depressing but not at all surprising to many of us. It's only one game but our pack is just a shadow of what it was merely 2 and 3 seasons ago. We have gone a long way backwards in a very short space of time. A bit of luck in the CC to look forward to perhaps but I can't remember ever looking forward to a season less than I have this one.
