The Sharks controlled the ruck. They dominated without the ball. Rovers however have much better defenders this year. We should improve as the season goes on. 8 derby debutants no Lunt, Quinlan, Jewitt or Scruton. What a way to win. What a way to rack up your 12th straight defeat. The records keep coming...
Wonderful end to the game. I thought they played the conditions beter and it was tough basic rugby by them.We didn't respect the ball first half (how many kick through went dead?). Both teams did some unreal goal line defence. Good game considering conditions etc. Bit fortunate to pinch it but that's how it goes .
We looked like a team with 6 players making there debuts, some good signs but some similar failings to last season, dropping off tackles and poor decision making at times. Great to get the win against a very dogged Hull side

Didn’t see us going the full length on the last set after we’d failed to get out of our half all the second half thought Garbutt was good Linnet looks solid and Tomkins led the side well Atkin isn’t a full back think it would be better using him as interchange hooker
einstien said insanity is when a person does the same thing over and over again but expects a different result

Agree please do not put Atkin at full back again if stuck put Hall their he has played fullback loads of times
Atkin wasnt bad, barring that one brain fart that he'll probably never do again i thought he went ok. Saying that id still start Dagger and have Atkin on the bench too. Was Shaw an injury or was it tactical to counter Hull's kick to the corners? (Which they didnt try)
I thought it was a decent game for the conditions and with both teams missing key players I think hull should have closed the game out has they were well on top for the last 15 mins but credit to rovers kept going to the end, cannot see either team bothering the top 5 but still expect hull to finish above rovers, ijust think hull have a much bigger squad, thought garbutt was m.o.m.

Atkin made a big error letting the ball hit him and go into touch - Hull had the ball for ages after that with penalties and goal line drop outs and it seemed to drain a lot of energy out of Rovers.
Rovers are developing a nice habit of winning close games though. This quality has brought two derby wins and the nail biting wins at Leeds & Toronto kept us in Super League. We stopped winning close games after Justin Morgan left it is now finally coming back and goodness it is so important.
