"The record" is as accurate and correct now as it was in 2002 when I first played it......we have no fans because we do not have the ability to market ourselves and as a direct result of this, when our owner had a hissy fit after a shalocking in the cup semi-final to Wigan, he essentially relegated us. Add to this his insane appointments of Mackay and Powell to positions neither were qualified for and you end up with a professional side, one of the top 11 in the country, playing in front of a few hundred ex pat northerners at a rented wedding venue........
.....if you don't like "the record", then explore what the ignore function is for!
JESUS WEPT HOW MANY TIMES????? £20 a ticket and £15 on beer and merchandise.....so an away fan is worth £35. At best, 1,000 is the average away support split across 11 rounds and I am being really generous here, so Toronto, replacing say Wakefield will cost a SL club £35,000. The minimum turnover of a SL club is £4,000,000 so Toronto instead of Widnes is worth less than 1% of a SL clubs turnover.
There are many valid reasons for and against expansion into America, but "AWAY FANS" isn't one of them.

Yes but we have heard it a what seems like a million times. You never have anything new to say, you just regurgitate the same old story every time. We all have our opinions on DH but I don't want yours rammed down my throat nearly every time I read a thread.
Dog, question for you? Are season ticket sales up from last year? Yes or no is good enough! That's actually building the fan base. As for press coverage, not sure what your point is! Do you want the club profile raised or not? National press covers quite a decent area

As a fan of a club who came up in 1999 and were instantly branded as cannon fodder I can tell you it is possible to defy the odds.
However right from the off Wakefield did have a core of SL/NRL players, probably just enough to tip the balance and so it stayed that way for the first four years.
I’m nervous about posting this because we have the poison chalice of playing you first. Added to that trips to London have not always gone well for us in the past. That said there has been a woefull lack of signings on your part so you must be nervous.
It’s not so much the big names it’s that core of hardened pros who make the spine of a team. These players are not flashy but they are important.
I do understand that a club like Trinity finds it easier to coax these players into the team. The distance and cost compared to moving for perhaps one seaon to London is a massive factor. All the same it’s got to be worrying.
Odd as it sounds beating us might not be a good thing for either of us tbh but then I would say that
Vastman, hope the London difficulty persists for you. We could do with a good start to the season just for confidence if nothing else. You have nailed the problem London have with recruitment, a player commuting the m62 is vastly different from them having to up sticks and move 150 miles south, Sammut is testament to that. You could argue that it's easier for the Aussies to come to London than a Wigan lad, but that then comes down to money where they go. Hope wakey have a decent season. I suspect bottom of league is gonna be between us and probably Salford if you keep on the way you have the last couple of seasons

It is not my intention to ram my opinion down anyone's throat, but the persistence of his fan club warrants a reminder of exactly how far we have fallen and the reasons why.
