You are travelling to us on sunday for michael lawrences testimonial , i cant see your media teams promoting the game as understandably they will want you all to turn up on Saturday and rightly so,

But for anyone who cannot make Saturdays game and fancies abit of rugby league as i understand you are still bringing some first teamers on Sunday ...

I think the main 1st choice players are playing in the Dewsbury game but there will be enough for there to be a decent game on Sunday.

Agreed. To be fair, I can't imagine either side putting out full first team squads at this time of year.

The OP is right. Unless I'm missing it, our club are not promoting this game at all.
Is this really just because we have a game the day before? I'd hate to think it was Chalmers taking another swipe at SL. That wouldn't be fair on Lawrence.

Maybe I'm wrong and it's really just up to Hudds to promote, but why was it arranged so close to another friendly anyway?

I think the way the Yorkshire cup games fell would have been unknown when the other games were arranged. We'd already arranged a number of pre-season matches well before that competition was agreed so it's that which has really impacted on the Huddersfield game.

I'd heard our media guy (Mr Spellcheck) had moved to pastures new. That might have an impact on publicity being done.

We don't seem to have a problem promoting the Saturday game...

Can’t see us spending any money promoting a game where we don’t get a share of gate. Saturdays game is shared gate so makes sense to promote it from a financial POV. Fair enough stick something on website and Twitter but that’s as far as I’d go. It’s hudds job to promote it if they want to and they’ll have a vastly bigger marketing budget.

You say that but had it not been for the OP providing the link you would not find any other mention of this game on the Giants website. Considering its a testimonial game too for Michael Lawrence I bet he's thrilled his own club are promoting it so heavily!!!

Its a shame when its benefiting someone who has given so much service to his club and the sport, but sadly I have no interest in this game at all. Instead I have far more interest in supporting those clubs shafted by Elstone and the rest of the SL chairmen in last seasons vote!!!

Don't think i'm biased...
...i'm just very narrow minded!!!!!!!

It would be unfair on Michael Lawrence but in any war innocent people end up in the cross fire. SL clubs caused this so it would be their fault.
