Yep, Definitely prefer the steeden. You only have to see the reaction of the players to see how bad the Rhino ball was. You also associate the steeden ball with RL.

Tbh it’s been the best ball RL have had. I personally love playing with it. Don’t get me wrong players get used to the Rhino ball but it doesn’t compare to the Steedan.
I personally liked that 8 panelled Gilbert ball we used in 2001-2003!

League Express has stats that showed the handling errors under Steeden were much the same as with Rhino, so to some degree failings in the Rhino ball were more a perception than reality.

If the doors of perception were cleansed every thing would appear to man as it is: Infinite. For man has closed himself up, till he sees all things thro' narrow chinks of his cavern.

Perception is more important than reality. If someone perceives something to be true, it is more important than if it is in fact true. This doesn't mean you should be duplicitous or deceitful, but don't go out of your way to correct a false assumption if it plays to your advantage.

Players and coaches will need to come up with a new excuse when they have a 'mare and a case of dropsy. The old "rhino ball is rubbish" standard has now expired. I always suspected it was a bit of an excuse, but nice to see there are some stats to back it up.
