Looking like Gregg McNally is returning to Leigh. Talks are ongoing between the clubs. He still lives in Leigh, and his wife is suffering from AVN/avascular necrosis. Guess he needs to spend more time with Rose & his kids.

I’ve heard that his wife was very ill. No one can knock the lad if he needs to be at Leigh so he can spend more time at home. He’d be part time at Leigh wouldn’t he? Which makes sense. That’s why I’d want a like for like replacement. Get another great Fullback in for Pickersgill to learn from at this level. Brandon will get his chance anyway this year due to the number of games (with the introduction of 1895 Cup).
I think at the moment the squad is balanced perfectly so a straight replacement for McNally makes sense to me.

Having read the story on Gregg's wife's just giving page it sounds like him being based over there makes sense for his family. Hopefully the clubs can come to some arrangement.
I'm happy for us to sign a replacement fullback provided it's someone of quality, otherwise let's give Pickersgill the shirt and wait and see who becomes available.

Came through the academy, still only young but played the majority of last season because of McNally being injured a lot of the time. Very nearly joined Featherstone during the off season but decided to stay with us and go full time. Not the biggest and not the quickest but is certainly a prospect and worth keeping.
He can't do it all on his own though and if Gregg leaves we'll need somebody else. The problem is, who?

Guess, you would prefer an experienced FB in the championship....with Pickersgill as back up. I've heard different rumours about McNally, 'having a break from the game/retiring to signing for Leigh. If we don't sign him, we also have no recognized full back. I was hoping we would get Will Dagger back on loan from Hull KR....but nothing yet. And also we've still not announced any pre-season games !!!

It must be time for a clue I keep looking over other teams squads, and cant find anyone that would pleasantly surprise and be let go by the current team
