A bit of deja vu after reading some of these comments from the fans regarding his sudden departure.
Here is a selection -
"I understood that his (Gus) method of micro-managing the staff was unpopular."
"Yeah been told by multiple people Gus has left. Also know a few people who have dealings with the club and nobody had much positive to say about him. From what I can tell we're better with out him"
"At the first 'Meet Gus' evening, about the only three things he mentioned were: a) He didn't like the way Jim communicated through Twitter, and he (Gus) would communicate at a more personal level. b) His first priority was selling the naming rights to the stadium. c) He had received a request to change the carpet in the conference lounge; he had put his foot down and said no.
Since then:
a) He hasn't communicated at all b) Zilch c) We have a new carpet"

We all new eventually Worcester would find him out, with the inevitable result. I have to admit I never took to the man. What amazes me is that he gets these jobs. Do these clubs not do due diligence on the guy. It would not take long to find out his worth. As WQ says, he may have run his course in sports administration. I for one hope so.
JESUS WEPT HOW MANY TIMES????? £20 a ticket and £15 on beer and merchandise.....so an away fan is worth £35. At best, 1,000 is the average away support split across 11 rounds and I am being really generous here, so Toronto, replacing say Wakefield will cost a SL club £35,000. The minimum turnover of a SL club is £4,000,000 so Toronto instead of Widnes is worth less than 1% of a SL clubs turnover.
There are many valid reasons for and against expansion into America, but "AWAY FANS" isn't one of them.
