Antagonistic little fella aren't you. We got mullered by Wigan in the 2013 CC Semi-final and Saint David if Swinton and his handpicked CEO decided to play chicken with the RFL in the off season.......if he'd have followed through with his threat to leave we'd have likely been "co-owned" by the other 13 SL sides in 2014 to ensure the fixtures were met....but he buckled (some negotiator) and instead we were relegated......14k state of the art stadium with a 5K average and you're happy with a wedding venue (still no application lodged with Ealing Council) and 800 fans.....yeah...Thanks Dave
JESUS WEPT HOW MANY TIMES????? £20 a ticket and £15 on beer and merchandise.....so an away fan is worth £35. At best, 1,000 is the average away support split across 11 rounds and I am being really generous here, so Toronto, replacing say Wakefield will cost a SL club £35,000. The minimum turnover of a SL club is £4,000,000 so Toronto instead of Widnes is worth less than 1% of a SL clubs turnover.
There are many valid reasons for and against expansion into America, but "AWAY FANS" isn't one of them.
Nothing antagonistic at all. Stating a fact, without mr Hughes we would not be in SL next year, last year without Mr Hughes we would not have been playing in a wedding venue in front of 800 fans. Without Mr Hughes we would be a name in the history books playing nowhere with no fans.

If David Hughes had not chosen the only first season in years that we could get relegated in, to throw his toys out of the pram. Then with decent recruitment we would not have been relegated in the first place.

My point exactly.......I regard Mr Hughes as a patron of the club and do not doubt that our existence so much as it is, is down to his "largesse" but he is as much the cause of the problem as he is a half solution...... If he spends £1,250,000 a year on us.....give me half of that and inside 5 years, I'll reduce his "required" income by 50%.......inside 15 years we'd be self sustaining.....he doesn't want the club to be self sustaining though....IMHO!
