is this to decide which team they will penalise the most!! Do they study teams or even individuals??

So basically as much time spent as the young lads who play championship and lower division but they also have to go to work. Maybe they should train to become part time refs it would be a lot easier on their bodies amd time

Excited of course they do, they all sit round on a wed and decide who is going to win as well
Sort of stuff that is looked at is to make sure they have the best chance to be in the best position, eg Danny Brough % wise what will he do on 4th or 5 play if he gets the ball.
Itsmeagain so basically as much time spent as any Super League player who plays full time.
Most part time clubs will train what? Twice a week? So 5 days a week full time as a ref works out a bit more than 3 hrs on a tues and thu eve

You didn’t seem to understand the process though itsme the full time Refs Work 5 days a week either reffing, or training one way or another. How that equates to the same as a part time player am unsure.
And slight mixed messages from you, you now saying the refs should all be part time? Thought you wanted more full time

Cardio Training would take maybe 3 x10k runs a week for a peak referee to stay in shape.....maybe some agility training, but that's it. The rest of the time should be spent watching match tapes, as well as maybe mentoring newbies.
As Jobs go, a Full Time ref doesn't strike me as a bad little number (so long as you've got thick skin)

JESUS WEPT :WALL: HOW MANY TIMES?????
£20 a ticket and £15 on beer and merchandise.....so an away fan is worth £35. At best, 1,000 is the average away support split across 11 rounds and I am being really generous here, so Toronto, replacing say Wakefield will cost a SL club £35,000.
The minimum turnover of a SL club is £4,000,000 so Toronto instead of Widnes is worth less than 1% of a SL clubs turnover.

There are many valid reasons for and against expansion into America, but "AWAY FANS" isn't one of them. :BEAT:

Of course that’s all they do, 3 runs a week! Tapes? What are tapes? You are a bit behind the times.
You didn’t bother reading the rest did you?
Feel free to go back and read the whole thread! Recovery sessions! Review session! Game prep sessions, all part of training, train the mind and the body!

Because if you read my post instead of looking how to criticise I said they have to do as much training and play at weekends AND GO TO WORK FULL TIME

I bet it is not 09:00 to 17:00 5 days a week.

I'm more interested in the quality of what the refs do rather than the hours they work but having said that it doesn't strike me as an especially demanding job.

Gus Mackay we salute you!!
