Otherwise it was an awful performance, flat, no imagination or creativity. I hope it was complacency/disappointment after last night. We need to get completely fired up for the £1m game!
Lacked structure and direction. Need to play much better than that to avoid embarrassment next week. All due to fax, they came to play and spoil the party, they seemed to break the line a lot easier than broncos and there defence was pretty spot on

It seems we can get up for a game then the intensity drops the week after. Last year with Toulouse away it seemed to happen when we had a dip in form after that win
- We won - Kieran did well under the high ball - London born players did well - We've got our bad performance out of the way, we're due to beat Toronto in Toronto - All pressure will be on Toronto to deliver in Toronto, we go there as underdogs but with the ability to win if things go right - Good atmosphere - We ground out a win in difficult circumstances where there was not much to play for (i.e. the outcome for the MPG was not win-dependant) - I hope we didn't pick up any injuries other than Lovell - i think Sammut and Kieran and Rees were limping at different stages.??

Too many folk assumed Fax would be a pushover and they were far from it. That, and the fact TWP won the night before took some of the edge of the game. We were clunky no doubt and conceded a couple of soft tries, but we won.
Good news, Api MIGHT be fit for next week (horses mouth) which would increase creativity in halves and free up Pittsy to operate in back row. Matt Davis is a big miss though.

Only because we let them. Structure was missing, simple wide moves saw balls go to ground. Props, fullbacks.... kicking poorly, no pressure on Murrell there play maker and kicker. It was a desperate performance.
Watched a rerun of the game and was amazed to find that it wasnt a professional referee for last nights game. How many full time professional referees are there. The referee was blowing hard after about 8 minutes. My worry is that we get Toronto away and the referee will be Mr.RFL Robert Hicks. The last two Toronto games he has been in charge of he has favoured them.In both games on the mic you can clearly telling him telling next time he will pull them up.
Gardener, just want to correct you, it was a professional referee, just not full time. It’s relevant how many full time Refs there are they are appointed as a team taking into account there performances over the previous weeks and what the game is! Not sure why you were amazed! One team playing were all part time as well. And of course Mr hicks was biased to Toronto they always are! As for telling a player he will take action, that’s what is known as a warning, it’s a tool that’s used to keep the game flowing rather than penalise every single time.
Last night was a bit of a damp squib end, Sky probably helped to cause that, broncos players knew chances of jumping to 4th very slim, and chance of 3rd spot was gone which likely effected there mindset and approach to the game. Halifax actually had more to play for, ie spoil it for broncos and get at least one win. As for comment on the ref! Not sure he was ever out of position, 40\20 restart he was pretty much there the fax winger was there quicker but that’s no surprise, just don’t like the whole protocol for the re start on 40/20s to be honest though
