What a great game of rugby league even if the consistency of refereeing today was cataclysmic. Even Micky1234 couldn't dig his way out if the bias shown by the ref. Awful stuff from him & he certainly deserves a demotion to League 1 for a week or two.
A totally controlled and well managed match in difficult conditions; 1 to 17 performed well. I thought Sammut was probably MoM, he took total control; the kicking game is something that has been a bit lacking this year. Although Walker was of course outstanding under the high ball as he has been all season. Solid performance from Dixon taking the ball forward, great yardage though I had a mini heart attack when ref signalled scrum with zero seconds to go!
Scotty Mickey Mouse was utterly useless, Stevo was visibly aghast, on more than ten occasions, at his atrocious decision-making. He bought Salford's nonsense at the PTB many times and he needs to revisit the rule book on a strip versus a knock on. Penalising the player for physically not being able to move away from the ruck is a rule that needs looking at. The ref did affect the outcome, points difference will be crucial.
I was initially a bit miffed that Toulouse and Toronto didn't read our script but in the end I thought viva hipster rugby league and viva expansion. However, all to play for against Fax and a chance of my original prediction of automatic Super League for us. Is there another twist in this season?
We have a youth system producing a steady stream of good players - now we just need a marketing effort ala Toulouse or Toronto to match them, whether we're in the Champs or SL next year.

Thrilled at the result and whilst I don't believe we will make 3rd unless HKR get totally ambushed by Widnes, who've not ambushed anyone in eons....but I reckon we have a great chance of hosting the MPG..............and in that scenario, anything is possible.
JESUS WEPT HOW MANY TIMES????? £20 a ticket and £15 on beer and merchandise.....so an away fan is worth £35. At best, 1,000 is the average away support split across 11 rounds and I am being really generous here, so Toronto, replacing say Wakefield will cost a SL club £35,000. The minimum turnover of a SL club is £4,000,000 so Toronto instead of Widnes is worth less than 1% of a SL clubs turnover.
There are many valid reasons for and against expansion into America, but "AWAY FANS" isn't one of them.
The ref was appalling! Battye’s sin binning set the tone- was at that end of the ground, ref took absolutely ages to call ‘held’/ make himself heard. Looked to me that the pressure of the occasion was too much for him!
