Only got to see about 20-30 minutes of the game. Seems like too many free mtrs given away, 8 Point try just daft, the double movement just daft, ball out on the full from kick off just daft.
Broncos really don’t know how to win penalties, KD broke made 60 mtrs got tackled, he made no effort to regain his feet, if he had the ref would have had no choice penalty and probably yellow card.

Other than that how do folk think the game went? No points but respectable result in the end.

Just back from Game

We was awful, and I mean west wales raiders awful. First set we knock on first tackle, Leeds score. Then from kick off Dixon kicks it out on full, Leeds score. So 10-0 down after less than 3 mins.

Next set we in attaching position, put the last tackle kick right down the wingers throat, miss tackles, he goes 80 metres and scores. So we 0-16 after like 10 mins.

We missed tackles, did every stupid thing you can ever think about (dixon also catching a last tackle kick from leeds and stepping into touch for instance on our 20, which gave them another try as well).

Ref was shocking as well, but we would have lost to league 1 teams today we were that bad. At 48-10 Leeds put the queue on rack, and we scored 4 tries to make score look better than we deserved, but we was just really really bad today.

Lets hope its a one-off and players can get back to doing basic's right again next week, or we will finish 8's with only 2 points

That’s the impression I got, interested why you didn’t like the ref though, what I saw every penalty he blew was justified

There was several times he did not give us a pen for leeds holding down in the tackle, and when we did it he immediatly blew up. Also he missed at least 2 forward passes which lead to tries.

But he did not cost us the game, we was so bad he could have given us a 10-1 tackle count and sent 2 leeds players off, and they would still have won at ease

I saw Api go off early, did not seem him come back on, but I could have missed it as I had my head in my hands most of game

Again have said it a few times, the Rugby brain sometimes is not there, comments re KD he should not be making those sort of mistakes it’s not as if he has not been in the game long enough.
I think to make MPG Toronto game is important. Widnes game completion rate was 80%plus it needs to be in that region if they are going to get a result in Canada.

If you'd said we would have beaten Widnes and lost to Leeds by 16 at the start of the Qualifiers most fans would have taken it I think.

I think nerves got the better of us in the first half. Leeds were too big and powerful for us in any event.

Api was in crutches and looked in a bad way.

On a positive note, our academy beat Hull. In other news Toronto and Hull KR look pretty lack lustre. Widnes look utterly abysmal based on yesterday's showing.

As I said, it’s a problem we have, we don’t know how to win the penalty! When we did land on hands and knees there was no effort to get up, place a foot try to stand you get the penalty! Leeds did that when I saw it, we didn’t, Dixon was a classic example, that break could! easily have been penalty and yellow, that was not the Refs fault that was the player.
RF Widnes are dire! We only beat em by 1 which I think shows we are still a way off.
But yup london looked more nervous than leeds

Dixon had one of those horrific games he occasionally has. A couple of dropped balls, kicked one out on the full, stepped over the touchline...but what really got me was his tackling. For 2 tries he had his hands on the Leeds player but let go of him, and I don't mean he was pushed away or outmuscled, I mean he literally let go of him. Both happened right in front of me. It was abysmal. I can't recall seeing it ever happen before. He had hi hands on him and then let go!

Apart from that, I think we were a little undersized compared to Leeds but the players worked hard despite the mistakes. I think overall we gifted them at least 4 tries.

When we got in amongst Leeds they looked poor, unable to defend their own 20m and a few players huffing and puffing. But we kept on giving them territory and possession.

No-one really expected us to win this one, so suck it up and move on. Two big games coming up for us, Toronto and Toulouse. Win those and we're in with a shot for the MPG.

Perhaps this was a reality check on where we really are as a team relative to SL?

We weren’t at the races from first minute. The defence on the right flank was woeful and was at fault for most of Leeds tries. Kieran, I can forgive him one and possibly two brain fart per game (as offensively he makes up for it) but today five or six is unforgivable and add to that his woeful defensive efforts, can he not handle the pressure of the big game ? Api, when he was on, was awful. I think Eddie is getting ahead of himself, he strayed from the things he is good at and was all over the place, as was Eloi.

Positives though: just felt right today (result aside), Leeds as ever contributing massively on and off the field. The second half effort was creditable although maybe down to Leeds cue on the rack. Loved the new BAR, that should be a permanent addition. Mascots, music, Academy win, kids zone, stewarding and general supporter management, well done Neil and his team.

Can we beat Toronto ? I think we can but we need to be more on game plan and less on believing our own hype.

I forgot about Pellisier. Messing around, trying to be clever with a step and a spin (and even a flick pass out the back a couple of times) at the ruck. Just pass the ball to the 1st receiver! Give them time to catch and pass instead of allowing the defence to move up on them with your silly little footwork.
