Mavericks like Kelly and Connor may well carry us to some wins next season but has been said elsewhere, opposition teams have sussed us and moving the ball out of the middle.
Its not that opposition coaches and their teams have sussed us,its because the top teams all play a different style of Rugby league to us and Wakefield and Huddersfield are following that pattern. They are using pace in their backlines and movement of the ball to come out of backfield which moves defences around and more importantly takes the pressure off their forwards so they are much more refreshed.
Contrast that with our 5 drives and a kick and thats the problem.
We know our pack ( Taylor excluded) are being run over but our lack of pace is also becoming a concern.
Radford stated last week that they had been working on a different style of play but did you see anything different to previous weeks?
What does it take to tell the first receiver to run the ball, cut out pass along the line before he is tackled to stretch the defence like Saints and Cas do all the time.Just vary the play.
Personally i dont think Radford will see this season out.You can see the pressure he is under.Taking a penalty wide out which Sneyd missed when Wakefield were down to 12 smelled of desperation.
I agree its not all his fault, but not moving our playing style forward in line with other top teams and relying on a power game when we dont have the forwards now to dominate will be his downfall.
