JESUS WEPT HOW MANY TIMES????? £20 a ticket and £15 on beer and merchandise.....so an away fan is worth £35. At best, 1,000 is the average away support split across 11 rounds and I am being really generous here, so Toronto, replacing say Wakefield will cost a SL club £35,000. The minimum turnover of a SL club is £4,000,000 so Toronto instead of Widnes is worth less than 1% of a SL clubs turnover.
There are many valid reasons for and against expansion into America, but "AWAY FANS" isn't one of them.
It would be nice if someone, perhaps the LBSA could run a coach to one of the away games. I would think Hull KR game would be my choice. It would be nice to see some different faces at an away game.

IF leeds are playing at wembley 5 days after playing us, I think we have a real chance...
Last year we came oooooh so close to beating warrington at Ealing, far closer than widnes. If Sammut had kicked that penality into touch just before 1/2 time v Wire, we would have won that game. Also 2 years ago we ran leeds close at our place as well.
I think Leeds at home are far more for the taking than Widnes away

Widnes are going to be relegated and te only thing that they have going for them is that they have a home tie v a championship side first up......us and Fax are the only sides they look capable of beating and I think they'll struggle in France......they've not won a competitive game since March 22nd....losing 16 straight. We are in a winning vein of for and if we score first their fans will get on their backs. Leeds won't be at Wembley but if they are.....then they are there for the taking as well and if we are 2 from 2 flying to Canada, the anything is possible. Bump....back to reality.....I see us with 6 points and one place out from the MPG.......but let's hope contract talks are happening now with either our key players or with others for next year as if they do revert to 1 up/1 down, then 2019 could be the season we bounce back.

It's all about momentum. Widnes are in such a bad run (all season, really) that if we get off to a good start in that game they could easily crumble. Win that match and it reinforces the belief we've already built within the squad. Then it's game on.

As long as Wardy and the boys remember the last time we went up to Widnes, they bullied us off the park. They'll try and do it again this year so the team needs to be ready adn stand up to it. It won't be pretty but if they stand up we could get a result up there. We won at Salford a couple of seasons back, we went close against Catalans last year, and gave Wire a fright when they thought it was safe to put the cue back on the rack. COYB!

The days of a passionate but antagonistic "Union troll" being prepared to organise such trips are long gone. I wonder if the Quins RL away day crew (70 strong) database that Gutterfax (RIP) has contains any more than 20 remaining fans?
