We should be building on that not staying still. All the top 4 clubs play a different style of Rugby league to us.The game is changing but Radford doesnt seem to want to change his style.
Major mistake in retaining certain players and not refreshing the squad.Even runaway Champions St Helens have made substantial signings.
I appreciate we have had injuries but so have other clubs.
In my opinion complacency has crept in.
We all know we have attacking deficiencies in the opposition 20.Our attack is too deep making it easy to defend,we dont take the ball to the line and engage the defender (something we could learn from HKR) slow passing, poor backing up and lack of dummy runners has been evident to see week after week yet doesnt get any better.
Surely even you can see that.
What you should do is listen to Radfords interview after the HKR game

I dont want to shift the ball I want to go through them
He seems to forget he has lost Watts (who was our best forward) and we no longer have a powerful set of forwards who put fear in the opposition
Gone are the days when we had Pritchard and Ellis coming off the bench
This current squad will have difficulty making the top eight next season if its not strengthened. We are nowhere near the current top 4 and now Huddersfield are coming good,Catalan will be strong,Wakefield we know what they can do,then add into the mix Leeds and HKR.
As interesting as they are i dont want this club to be involved in the middle eight play offs do you?
To be fair, on a night like Friday, with a greasy ball, it was never going to be fast hands type of rugby.
I think too many are placing too much emphasis on who the opposition were rather than looking at the bigger picture. The stark reality is that this season was just about blown apart in May with the amount of long term injuries we have had to endure. This factor alone should tell you that judging Radford on the teams performances is not a fair reflection on his ability to get a team ready when we have had so many out for so long. For me, Radford should be allowed to start 2019 with a clean slate, BUT we must see improvement in our ability to compete and take advantage of field position.
It does seem a bit baffling that Mini, Manu and Washbrook have all been retained. I'd like to see a few more shipped out and a monster forward signed. IMO the only young forwards who have done enough to suggest they can cut it at SL level are Matongo and Lane. Downs and Fash both will give you 100% but I feel they are not adding to the team.
