I wouldn't have kept Washbrook, think he is done at the top level and would rather see gametime to Lane, Litten and Turgut, who all have more potential than him, saying that with a testimonial i think he will be on peanuts for this contract,#
As a junior Jack brown was/ is outstanding and is probably the best prop aged 18 at the moment, very highly rated throughout the game.
I still think we might recruit, i'd try and release Paea and use his money and a couple of young players out on loan to bring in a prop, I'd take a gamble on Dave Taylor, who I think we could get cheap. I wouldn't rule out a move for Josh Jones aswell.
It’s not a gamble we need , it’s quality to replace watts we need . I’d say the kid from London is a gamble , can’t afford another. Jones is signed apparently, good knows why though now we’ve renewed all the back rowers with new deals .

Yes I agree , but with lane who I think as loads of potential and turget who I’d keep too , don’t see why keep mini and or washy when it’s a quality prop we’re lacking .

The problem now for the club if we are not adding a big signing for next season is how it will effect pass sales. No excitement for the fans with the same squad taking the field in my opinion will effect pass sales. Pearson isnt stupid.I think he will see to it that a fairly major signing will join the club for next season.
The privilege to watch Jake Conner in a Black and White shirt should sell season tickets.

Scott Taylor has been a sensational capture for us. International, uncompromising prop who bleeds black and white. Coming into his peak now as well, fantastic news.

Pretty much what Jason Netherton tweeted yesterday - he's not seen a better prop in the league this year. Hopefully he'll get a senior debut next season.

Historically Hull as a city has always struggled to produce Halves and Centres, though of course Horne and Yeaman did end up internationals in the last 15 years and Cooke was unlucky not to be in my opinion.
Got to be something going wrong at an earlier age as Rovers never produced any either when the academies were seperate, perhaps too much of an empthasis on size/power than giving smaller kids who have handling/kicking skills a chance?

It’s a weird one Gentle was setting up a half back school at one time You need confidence to be a great half back and having coached for a number of years it’s not something that working class boys seem to have a lot of Sam Walsh seemed to have a lot of it but then got banned for 2 years and that was that Centres - mmmmmm...... Easiest position on the pitch just about When kids are young the best kids in youth get put in more dynamic positions Centres seem to be safe and boring and only average kids get to play there Considering we need 2 amazing centres it’s a wonder we don’t have a centre coach alone and take some strong tall boys from say aged 12 and groom them into centre players Will Chambers at Storm is just about the ideal centre We have some work to do in the Academy on these matters
