.....lol...Ten years is a long time!! :D

Seriously though, the reality is that Salford and Widnes are the wounded animals and if anyone is replacing them then it'll be Toronto or Toulouse, so next year could see a Championship with Clubs like Salford, Widnes, Fev, Leigh, Fax, London, Bradford all fighting for a place in SL........If we finish 7th in the middle 8's (assuming we are there)£450,000 is the income from central........if St D of Swinton throws another million at us then we have as good a chance than anyone of getting there.....but we can't expect to be there with 800 gates,,,,,,we need to really press ahead and give both "away fans' and Locals a really good reason to come....hot-dog canons and beer tents anyone?

JESUS WEPT :WALL: HOW MANY TIMES?????
£20 a ticket and £15 on beer and merchandise.....so an away fan is worth £35. At best, 1,000 is the average away support split across 11 rounds and I am being really generous here, so Toronto, replacing say Wakefield will cost a SL club £35,000.
The minimum turnover of a SL club is £4,000,000 so Toronto instead of Widnes is worth less than 1% of a SL clubs turnover.

There are many valid reasons for and against expansion into America, but "AWAY FANS" isn't one of them. :BEAT:

CMG you are undoubtably right when it comes to making games more attractive to draw locals to attend.
For a start, who on earth chooses the music that they play. No thought seems to go into it. The age of our fans is sadly on the north side of forty, so playing modern music does not fit the bill and it is too loud.
As you say, let us put things on. With a bit of imagination and effort you could have themed events surrounding match day. An example why not try a Cockney themed day. Pub pianist playing in the CCH, before and after the game, Jellied eels, pie and mash. Pearly King and Queens in attendance. Songs like Roll out the barrel playing through the PA, with fans encouraged to join sing along. If fans bought into it the atmosphere would be electric.
I know you have mentioned previously how bad the club is at promotion, they must do more.A banner outside the church and posters on the back of a few buses are not enough.
I must also say that I think that club does not seem to give value to its sponsors. We have Dacia as a club sponsor. The last time I saw the car that the club has from them it was filthy. Not good. What is more I would have expected that at least at one game Dacia would have had a display of their cars, they may even have sold one you never know. It would however have given them something back and we could hopefully build our relationship.
The guy that supplies the teams clothing. We are gntleman. He attends the games. Through the club we can get discount from them. I only found that out speaking to him in hospitality. Give him a plug before and at half time. A quick mention on the mic before the game and at half time that the the players clothing is supplied by We are gntleman and fans get discount etc etc. Sponsorship needs to work both ways.
Sadly things will just carry on as they are. Same old faces just getting a bit older.

There have been noticeable improvements around the club in the last year or so, but big issues still remain. I live in Ealing and I've only ever seen one attempt at advertising - a 6ft x 2ft poster outside the church in the Broadway in the build up to last season's middle 8s. The schools team does a good job, but that's a very different thing.

God knows how many people work in the Broadway or travel through the station every day, and Ealing has some very wealthy people with money to spend and kids to entertain. There still seems to be no desire to tell people the Broncos exist.

Jesus are you CMG in disguise? Ask him to present his 20 point plan from the Quins days??

Things the club could do at low or no cost:

1/ A craft beer tent next to the burger tent (would pay for itself).
2/ Change the music (2 Unlimited - No Limits for a Try, Blur – Song 2 for a Goal – ala The Stoop 1997). There is also a song which the club often played back in the 90’s which was the Brisbane Broncos theme song, this should also be re-introduced pre match. Turn up volume subject to planning restrictions.
3/ Whilst I think the club does a good job on social media, stop investing time creating quirky YouTube videos of the players talking about each other (they get about 60 views a piece which does nothing to promote the game); reallocate that time to investing in match day experience.
4/ The stewards are still branded in Harlequins branded high-vis jackets, the cost of rebranding these is small but it looks shabby to still be carrying the Harlequins branding.
5/ Next to the Ealing Trailfinder’s sign at the entrance, erect a (temporary) sign on match days with the logo which reads ‘Home of the London Broncos’.
6/ Academy game as a curtain raiser before the main game – what is the politics behind not being able to do this? It was a major draw at the Stoop.
7/ Live stream all games (including academy games) that Sky does not hold the rights to, it doesn’t matter if the quality isn’t perfect. Bradford are doing something similar on Facebook.
8/ Drop Buck – either he’s at every home game or not at all. If you can’t afford him, drop him altogether. If you reinstate him, he needs to be at every home game (also give him big stupid feet like the old days, not just trainers).

What restrictions are there around using the large amount of space around the main pitch to hold a farmer’s/pop up market. I believe this would attract a lot of local families who would then be captive to market the game to. Need to work the alternative/pop-up/hipster angle like Toronto.

I agree the music is wrong, but I think the club should do what it can to attract families and the younger crowd.

Someone on the other side of the world is about to go into overdrive with this thread. 8 years he's been waiting for this. Sit down and prepare yourself.

Yes, but to be fair, he made some decent points and the club could have tried some if not all of them out? His points about crowds are right, we can’t make SL on less than 1000.......

Nope.......the reality is that DH has little interest or care how many fans are at games and therefore little time or effort will be thrown into making the club anything like self sufficient.
